Altogether, Rivera made off with about $10,000 in cash from the water gun bank robberies.

Chump Change, the Banks made off with nearly a Trillion Dollars in 2008 when they ROBBED THE PEOPLE!!!

Had he pointed that water gun at a cop, he would have gotten a lot more than 5 years. He would have gotten a free piece of land. 4 X 9. And 6 feet deep.

Just to put this all into context; he's been convicted 10 times of felonies, and was on parole during these two bank robberies. He was arrested for them in April 2016. Defense asked for and was granted ‘time served’ credit for the time he was ‘waiting’ for his trial - you know, being back in prison for violating his parole?

Recently, a man pled no contest to stomping on a man's face repeatedly during a bar fight, nearly killing the man and permanently disfiguring them. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for April of next year.

Our justice system is so incredibly glacial in movement, and non-punitive with ‘credit for time served’ or ‘good behavior.’ Both need to be fixed. Then fix our incarceration system so that no one ever wants to spend a day in that cell.

Heck, might as well outsource our prisons like we outsource everything else and start sending these prisoners to Mexico. Family and friends can bring them presents there.

It does not matter what the weapon was if the person being robbed believed it to be a real gun.

Why not the twenty years each that the law prescribes? Robbery is robbery, no matter the weapon
