A man from Springfield, Massachusetts, could spend the next 10 years in prison for two March 2016 bank robberies in which he used a water gun to threaten employees.
Edgardo Rivera, 34, was convicted Thursday of armed robbery before he was handed down his sentence. In addition to prison time, he will be required to complete five years of probation.
Authorities say Rivera painted the water gun to make it look like a real weapon, and one bank employee told police she thought she was going to die during the robbery. However, Riveras lawyer argued for a shorter sentence, noting Rivera used a water gun, not a real weapon, to ensure no one was injured.
Altogether, Rivera made off with about $10,000 in cash from the water gun bank robberies.
With all the Gun Control in place you have to use whatever you can
I guess he was after their liquid assets.

Chump Change, the Banks made off with nearly a Trillion Dollars in 2008 when they ROBBED THE PEOPLE!!!
What an arrogant little squirt.
Well, he is still a bit wet behind the ears.
Had he pointed that water gun at a cop, he would have gotten a lot more than 5 years. He would have gotten a free piece of land. 4 X 9. And 6 feet deep.
Recently, a man pled no contest to stomping on a man's face repeatedly during a bar fight, nearly killing the man and permanently disfiguring them. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for April of next year.
Our justice system is so incredibly glacial in movement, and non-punitive with ‘credit for time served’ or ‘good behavior.’ Both need to be fixed. Then fix our incarceration system so that no one ever wants to spend a day in that cell.
Heck, might as well outsource our prisons like we outsource everything else and start sending these prisoners to Mexico. Family and friends can bring them presents there.
It does not matter what the weapon was if the person being robbed believed it to be a real gun.
As one Old Timer said, "Aye, put 'penitent' back into 'penitentiary'."
Were they loaded?
Meanwhile the bank ceo and board of directors rob the bank and are rewarded with a bonus.
Meanwhile. Bergdahl walks free.......
Why not the twenty years each that the law prescribes? Robbery is robbery, no matter the weapon
