Im kind of happy about the whole Harvey Weinstein affair, in the same way the liberals are happy about the Vegas shooting or any dead Soldier. Rats love it when they have a crisis to leverage, especially if it involves dead conservatives. Luckily, this one doesnt involve any conservatives at all.
Couldnt happen to a better bunch. Im afraid I might actually start liking the guy!
Pass the popcorn.
I always find actors to be a generally very pleasant group. Always have. They are generally not overly educated and that makes them seem stupid to people.
I met Dustin Hoffman once at a writer’s house and he was very gracious and thankful for my work. On the other hand, at the same house, after meeting Warren Beatty and returning to my work a few feet away, Warren turned to the writer and made a vile comment about me. It was completely uncalled for and strange.
First thing I thought when seeing Dustin and a woman was “WHEW! It was a woman and not a young boy!”
Ladies, defend yourselves!! US Law makes provisions for women who are reasonably in fear of grievous bodily injury or harm! Use it! The SCOTUS has ruled that its not the govts job to defend any one individual. You are responsible for your own self defense.
(At the very least, dont attempt to disarm others who would defend you).
i dont think you understand the strategy here. it appears that the plan is for everyone to complain about this and saturate the internet until everyone is sick of hearing about it, at which point things go back to business as usual
“Hoffman does like girls. When I worked on Tootsie, he was very flirtatious but I really liked him. But then I dont consider flirtation to be harassment.”
1. But that is exactly where the Marxists and their feminazi friends are trying to get this issue morphed into - flirting IS “sexual harassment”; that’s where they want to see this go. Why? Because in many other ways they have already been supporting the dishonest intellectual error of making NOT your clear intentions in your actions that makes them “guilty” but only how I “felt” about them. Guilt is then derived solely in the mind of who some action was directed towards and not in any intentions of who the action came from. Thus women get to merely choose if the same action is harassment or not, by their “feelings” regardless of anyone’s intentions.
2. It is against masculinity altogether, in the sense that masculinity admits sexual attraction to female gender and with that attraction to what seems physically attractive. So the attack is that men should - at so point - always and only see any woman for her mind and character, period, nothing else. They think only then will “men and women be totally equal”. I got news for them. Minus even any “sexual attraction” women are no different than men in pursuing friendships and associations based on “who is physically attractive”, even within their own gender. It’s human, not “masculine”.
I feel bad for all these victims but you said nothing all these years ????
Not buying this.
If I had to make a guess, this is all a build up to take out trump in 2020. Well, an attempt.
She was offended by his behavior because she wasn’t attracted to him. Meanwhile, if Warren Beatty (who in the article she was drawn to) had flirted the same way, she would have been thrilled.
When you get down to it, a lot of “sexual harassment” is just flirtation from a guy the women disdains. And yet, how is a guy going to find a women who wants him, if he doesn’t approach a lot of women and take a few risks?
Editor’s Note: Contacted by The Hollywood Reporter, Hoffman responded, “I have the utmost respect for women and feel terrible that anything I might have done could have put her in an uncomfortable situation. I am sorry. It is not reflective of who I am.”
Alrighty then
What happened? Did Hoffman suddenly announce he was running for president in 2020 as a republican while I wasn’t paying attention?
Moral of the story..don’t do it in the work place.
but I think you are right..had it been someone that was hot and powerful..might have been okay
IIRC, Beatty was exactly the type to do this kind of thing over and over and over again back in the day.
You worked on Tootsie?
One of my All Time Favorite movies! Set in New York City.
“I want to make her a little more attractive, how far can you pull back?” Producer speaks to Camera Man.
“How do you feel about Cleveland?”
“Knock it off!” Producer
that may be the best post on this story
Okay, enough. I admit to being conflicted here. On one hand I don’t mind the left finally getting exposed, on the other hand... just stop! This was 32 years ago!
I mean do these people keep secret, detailed journals? How come no one ever heard about this if one was so offended until 32 years later? The big old “Me Too” train is definitely chugging down the path here. Everyone has a story. Everyone’s a victim.
Most people pick themselves up and move on with their lives. Others crave the attention and the promise of victimhood.
Ladies, wear a burka and live in a house with 72 cats and never interact with people of the opposite sex and then you will, at long last, be totally safe.
Ever since the Weinstein thing started, I’ve been saying the same thing: as much fun as it is to watch the left eat its own, there is something bigger going on here that is dangerous. The Overton Window is being shoved significantly leftward.
That is a clear intent, and a danger. In the general scheme of things, make everything illegal, based only on feelings, then you can pick and choose who to prosecute/persecute.
It works when you own the media, as the left did for 50 years.
But now there is some alternate media, so they are being burned as well.
Simply amazing that Beatty’s name hasn’t surfaced in connection to a sexual harassment complaint—or worse. His bedpost (prior to marrying Annette Benning) had so many notches, it probably looked like a beaver’s teething tree. Hard to believe a man could bed that many women (purportedly) and never generate a single claim of harassment.
I knew a journalist years ago who was very open about trying to sleep with virtually any woman he met. He wasn't particular. It was just a non-stop quest for him. He explained: "I get turned down 99 times out of a hundred. But I get laid a lot."
