It still goes on.

You have to have a certain number of women in management positions, and there are those who will do what ever it takes to get ahead, even if it means giving a little.

Illegal and immoral, but it goes on.

That speaks even better for you, because you are honest and admit to being human.

I don't have a sterling character either, but, like you, I have standards.

And as I say, what you have said is very well said, and there are more of us than there are of them.

You can’t eliminate a behavior, there will always be bad people. The difference between now and say the 60s is it’s a BAD person behavior now, and just how things were then. And hopefully that’s the change happening in Hollywood finally.

Sorry you are a Jane Fonda fan who has trouble with facts.

You're not sorry, nor am I a Jane Fonda fan. The facts are you just tried to smear every last one of these people as hookers, when there are likely several who truly were sexually assaulted. Which to you is apparently a mere joke, and why you're so comfortable defending monsters like Weinstein.

and as an actress, she did what she had to do.

In a 2011 interview, McGowan talked about her experience working with director Victor Salva, who is a convicted child molester and child pornography maker,on “Rosewood Lane.” She said, “I still don’t really understand the whole story or history there, and I’d rather not, because it’s not really my business. But he’s an incredibly sweet and gentle man.”

Just what we need; an incredibly sweet and gentle child molester!

A local talk radio host , Brice Elliott at WCBM in Baltimore claimed that any of these women NOW coming forward with accusations of sexual harassment and even rape are no better than a prostitute who stands on the street corner waiting for the Johns to pay them for sex . His rational is that these Weinstein victims kept quiet only so they could advance their careers and make the big money . To them it was all about the money and they would rather over look their victimization for more money and future opportunities . He said what’s the difference between the prostitute doing it for money and the actresses excusing it for the money and fame .

When he first started out with his comparison I thought he’s really going to get a load of negative responses from his listeners but that was not the case , instead many callers supported his rational .

I have never said or even implied that most actresses are whores. Evidently some are, but I don't know who they are and don't even want to know.

What I have said is that any adult who prostitutes himself or herself for success is a victim of his/her own stupidity or moral depravity and might even be pleased with the results of the bargain but is in no position to preach morality.

But that’s calling actresses whores, lol. Or have you a new definition for “prostitutes”??

I’ll try to help you understand what everyone else did.

The Casting Couch was a horrible system that has persevered in Hollywood since the 1920s. It continued because the men and women, straight and gay, were willing participants in it. As an example of how pervasiveness it was, a few years ago, an actress was commenting on her 3d or 4th Oscar. She said “I’m now one of the few actresses who doesn’t have to get down on her knees to get a role. I only know of three others.”

Why weren’t the people who are now touting themselves as victims, and all the others who still remain silent, why weren’t they going public to stop the abuse 20-30-40 years ago.

Every day they remained silent, another young innocent young girl or boy was drawn into the trap, a trap from which there was no escape.

Another horrible part to me was, not just that young women and boys were forced into it, but once in it, they then held themselves up to be portraits of morality and virtue who thought their movie star status gave them the right to lecture us on their far-left politics.

Do you really think an A lister would reveal her casting couch activities?

Don't be so naive.

Good post! I, too, was once smeared as a “Fonda lover” for saying that Fonda in her youth was hot. And she was! Look at her Vadim movies or Klute. Doesn’t make me a fan of her Viet Nam actions or anything else involving her.

I have said all along that, even knowing what we know about Weinstein, girls would still show up to one of his "casting calls" tomorrow.

That's a measure of the depravity and desperation in the business. And an insight into what acting is really about - lying to someone in a believable, entertaining way. All your great actresses, and great prostitutes, can make you believe.

Both can suffer from morning-after remorse, and get cranky if they don't get paid.

Sorry, but it entirely based on fact. Our firm represented too many women and men who had been victimized by the system. Their anger was equally directed at the men, and yes, women, who were the victimizers, and also at the prior victims who kept silent to preserve their own careers.

My point is, why didn’t the victims of this start screaming 40 years ago.

But it’s Ashley ‘I’m a NASTY woman’ Judd who is enjoying.....and I mean ....enjoying....all the attention

That’s because she has no career to speak of anymore. She’s 48 years old and she’s never going to get leading lady roles anymore. She can’t compete with the new generation of gorgeous actresses in their 20’s. Her time is over.

The only way she can get scarce low-paying roles from now on is by going full time Nasty Woman activist. That’s the only angle that well help her get work.

......And she is a narcissist and needs constant fawning attention.

BTW, I do NOT want it to be true that actors and actresses are prostitutes—nor do I think that most of them are. I remember when movie stars fought for America and served the men in our military, when they came out publicly supporting all that is good and right in America, when Marlene Dietrich risked plenty to oppose the Nazis in her native Germany, when Jimmy Stewart and Henry Fonda wore military uniforms, when movie stars went into dangerous combat zones to entertain the troops and raise their morale, when Bob Hope sang “Thanks from America!” on the radio to the men and women serving in the Pacific, and when I could watch Hollywood’s movies without feeling a sense if disgust and sorrow at the decadence that afflicts America and threatens to destroy the USA.

Acting is not lying. How naive. Acting is the art of revealing the truths of the playwright or screen writer. It has nothing to do with falsehoods.

This thread is getting sillier and sillier.
