The UNIDENTIFIED 22 year old driver was released!? She should be in jail AND identified. She committed murder. Why sent on her way?

Per above article, perp was released pending further charges. But no ID given on the perp.

Sad event for sure. Apparently Katie Evans may not have been wearing a seat belt.
Another article I read said she was ejected from her car.

snip
.....A woman in the second vehicle, identified by family and friends as Katie Snyder Evans,
was ejected and died at the scene, sheriff’s officials said.

Given it is a 22 year old female, I doubt it is the typical illegal alien drunk driver, but a vagina-privileged affluenza-suffering potential-rape-victim bimbo.

“Apparently Katie Evans may not have been wearing a seat belt.”

Wow. Now the perp will walk. Wear the damn seatbelts. You may be a good driver, but there is a drunk driver just waiting to kill you.

My 18 year old niece (and her boyfriend) were killed by a drunk driver who, according to court records, was "well known to the police".

My brother, while in the ER getting the horrible news, saw a guy sitting there with a few bruises on his face.He wondered if that was the guy but wasn't sure.He learned later that it *was* the guy.He said that if he had known that at the time he would have killed him then and there.

That was three days before Christmas...many years ago.

Stories like this one with this young mother make me see red.

She may have been so exhausted she forgot to put it on. If so, darn shame someone didn’t give her a ride.

I had a judge once tell me that it was hard to get juries to convict on DWI because too many of the jurors identified with the perps, thinking there but for the grace of God go I.

Alright, this doesn’t make sense. She is so exhausted to put on a seatbelt, but not too exhausted to drive? Please. The simple reason could be that wearing seatbelts is seen as a hassle given she probably had a c-section (premature twins etc).

How do you get a misdemeanor when you kill someone?

very sad. prayers for the family. Prayer too that justice is served and the perp somehow learns some lessons.

Shame she was not likely wearing seat belt but i don’t see that as let the perp get off easy. Woman who died likely would have had injuries had she not been ejected, since it takes some force/impact to be ejected.

Just a thought, it may have been the car that she sideswiped initiated the accident, the article is not clear. Recently, a man in Houston ran over and killed a guy on the Feeder road exit of the freeway at night, no pedestrians allowed. He , the driver was slightly over the limit. The fact the pedestrian was not supposed to be there and it was reasonable to assume that even if he had not been drinking, he still would have run over him. So, if the car that sideswiped the 22 year old caused her to lose control, then it may not have been legaly her fault.

The article indicates that the drunk did the sideswiping...

Katie Evans was driving in the area of Golden Valley Road and Valley Center Drive when she was struck head-on by a vehicle that had lost control after sideswiping another car, the Santa Clarita Valley Signal reported.

“She sideswiped one car and then hit the other one head on,” Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Sgt. Dan Dantice told the Signal. “They found alcohol containers in the vehicle.”

I didn’t see any report of her alcohol level, maybe it was an .05 or so but still decided to charge her, or , maybe they suspected drugs in her system other than alcohol, hard to say. I would tend to believe if she was a solid .08 or more they wouldn’t have released her. People have been convicted of DUI even blowing under the legal limit if they can convince a jury they were impaired.

22 years old so my guess its a DREAMER.

The media and California polticians will cover it up as to no give fuel to tbe anti DACA movement or destroy the narritive that all DREAMERS are upstanding wonderful citizens

Oh and one more factor no one has mentioned. We do not know if the woman killed may have also been on some type of medication and could have also been DUI.

I had a judge once tell me that it was hard to get juries to convict on DWI because too many of the jurors identified with the perps, thinking there but for the grace of God go I.

A few years ago I was called to jury duty.I reported to the specified courthouse and was sent to a waiting room with a few dozen other people.I,and others, were eventually herded into a courtroom where a DUI trial was about to start. The judge told us that we should speak up if we felt we shouldn't be a juror in that trial.I raised my hand and was called to the judge's podium where several lawyers were gathered and told them that I had a niece who was killed by a drunk driver.Immediately everyone there basically said,in unison,"no,he should be excused".So then the judge said I was free to go.I asked him if I could stay and watch the trial and he said "yes".

Long story short, after having heard the prosecution's start witness being questioned by the prosecutor (the state cop who pulled the guy over and took him to the cell) it sounded to me like he was trying to help the defense.IOW,I think I might have voted "not guilty".

And I'm a 100% teetotaler...and always have been.

That benevolent higher Being was tortured to death on a roman cross. It’s not just to blame God for the willful acts of humanity.
