So, first you risk destroying a business that has made many African Americans into millionaires, and then you want back it? There are a lot of people whose jobs are on the line, including groundskeepers, vendors and back office Joes, in addition to the people you see on the field.

Please, oh please let all these ghetto temper tantrums (kapernik, blm, naacp, etc) finally awaken Americans to what we've brought upon ourselves. The entire civil rights debacle has produced, (excuse the analogy), a 60 year old brat who has been given every concession under the sun in the hopes that he would, after all this time, simply keep his ignorant, illiterate, profanity laced mouth shut.

And it's not working. The more he/they get, the more outrageous their demands. The more profane his speech. And the louder he yells.

Please let me live long enough to see the pendulum swing back to the right with a vengeance.

Can you imagine any of the football stars of the 1960s through the mid 80s acting like that? They’d have been gone with only a vaopr trail remaining.

I have a family member who played for the Braves and Reds in the '70s up til about 1980 or so. He got too big for his britches and became a free agent, and nobody wanted him.

He had great numbers, great batting average, couple of Grand Slams, but he also had a (well deserved) reputation for being very difficult to deal with. And it's because of that, nobody wanted him. I didn't like dealing with him in just regular family situations. Just not a likeable guy.

So, too late to make a long story short, that's who I think about when I hear this whole Kaepernick stuff. Maybe nobody wants him because he's an asshole.

Yeah, considering the fact that Kapernick's antics are directly responsible for plunging the league into existential danger, he's a great job prospect, ain't he?

On the up side, after a season or two of playing to empty seats, eventually player salaries will have to come down. Maybe even then the people who actually paid for the stadiums will be able to afford to go to the games.

Kaepernicks whole plan was elevate his media fame, brand himself as the conscience of the NFL and extort a huge long term contract and starting position from some NFL team

This has backfired on him now that he has destroyed his career and set in motion the destruction of the NFL as we know it

He will never play again

I think it is progress. First step in the right direction in over a year.

Now, will Colin set up a meeting with Trump and bury this thing once and for all? Whatever they do, don't invite anyone from the NFL or owners. Trump has many athlete supporters who could enable such a thing, and guarantee the outcome for both sides. It would be big news for both sides for sure.

“equivalent of putting OJ in your movie.”

I must respectfully object, the OJ “Nordberg” character in the Naked Gun series was absolutely hilarious, from the name to ineptness of everything he did.
