Thanks to a planned pool at the Dominican Republics
Punta Cana airport which serves as the gateway to a
strip of beachfront resorts and has direct flights to NYC
via JetBlue, United and Delta fliers can cling to those
last precious moments of vacation.
The under-construction swimming hole, designed by local
architect Antonio Segundo Imbert to overlook an airstrip
and parked planes, is slated to open in December as
part of a VIP lounge.

Although, one would stand out in the arrival hall in the US.
What the heck? Thought they didn’t want birds on the runways?

Punta Cana is just an excuse to go to a “place” with warmer weather, and the D.R. doesn’t really exist.

Now, I enjoy the sound of freedom as much (probably more) as the next guy. But when I'm relaxing poolside? Not so much.
Not only that, it took an architect to design that oblong hole in the ground.
Hearing protection provided for pool users?

I love the smell of jet exhaust...it brings me right back to my old days as a jet mechanic!
(kind of the way the smell of the combination of diesel exhaust, fish, and sewage brings me back to my days in Japan!)
