His so called Playboy philosophy encouraged millions of young men to be promiscuous, and treat women as playmates and play things. There was an encouragement to men to treat women as interchangeable and disposable.

1. Don't know about later publications, but in the early days during my adolescence it was not pornography. Think about all the famous artists going back hundreds of years that painted or sculptured nude women. Was Michelangelo's Venus de Milo porn? Like Playboy, it was a tribute to the beauty of the female body, which as a heterosexual I adore;
2. I doubt Playboy caused the sexual revolution, which did become perverse. Read Robert Bork's book, "Sliding into Gomorrah". You'll understand the "free love sexual revolution";
3. I don't know if Hefner was a pervert, but his orgy parties at the mansion were over the top. No, I wouldn't touch the water in the pool with a surgical glove;
4. Yes, Hefner was a womanizer and a weird person. Who lives 24/7 in their pajamas/robe?;
5. What kind of old man is obsessed with young women? I'm 67 and looking at those playmates, I see them as children;
6. Worse, he supported and helped normalize abortion. That is why I had no respect for the man.

Bottom line: I enjoyed Playboy in my youth. Yes, I actually read the articles and enjoyed the yearly Best of Musicians.
