The current Weather Forecast for Houston as well as other areas impacted by flooding remains very dry.
There is a 'chance' for rain (20%) at the end of the forecast period (Sunday, and for Port Arthur/Orange), possibly Saturday).
That will the area about 2 weeks without rain since the flooding rains.
Everyone in the Houston flood zone is working like mad, ripping out the damage and rebuilding, so the dry weather is a blessing. There are still roads closed because of flood waters, with many people having to drive extra miles commuting in heavy traffic, but they are trying to get to work on time. Keep these Texans in your prayers, please.
Anyone notice the beautiful low humidity too?
I spent the weekend tearing out drywall at, and cleaning out, my daughter’s school.
It is only 5 blocks from the bayou. It got hit hard.
A lot of destruction I can look at dispassionately; it does not affect me. Other stuff gets to me, though. My kids’ school also has a church, and in addition to all the desks and cabinetry, all the pews were destroyed. Not a single pew survived. That saddened me. They were nice pews.
I haven’t missed the rain for some reason.
The ragweed pollen has been pretty bad, though.
Yes, I was not my usual sweat-sodden self while working in the yard this weekend. Still lots of traffic problems around town due to roads still under water.
thanks for posting! been thinking about y’all every day wondering how to find out how it’s going.
FLASH! The weather channel is now making hay over the Drought in Texas! No rain in sight. Crops and people are going to dry up and blow away. Songbirds have lost their voices. Gaters need lotion to protect their hides. Funds are now being set up to protect the mosquitoes.
All caused by global warming of course.
They’re rioting in Africa
They’re starving in Spain
There’s hurricanes in Florida
And Texas needs rain...

LOL I was talking to a woman I know, where’s her tin foil hat 24/7, and she knows the government caused Houston. search for NASA’s rain machine. (I don’t think it would do that in a desert.)
