An autopsy report showed the teen was knocked unconscious by the large wave and drowned after being pulled into the rough shallows, the outlet reported.
After the teen was knocked off his board, other surfers tried to pull him from the churning waters and started to perform CPR.

I went to the coast when a hurricane passed 500 miles or more off the South Carolina coast. There were guys surfing but no way was I getting in. In addition to the waves terminating way up into the tree line, there were numerous tree trunks banging about not to mention waves way beyond my ability.
