Cheap walkie-talkies can encrypt voice communications, so I would think that the Red Sox could easily have done so.
If MLB is so worried about sign stealing, then why don’t they encourage some kind of encrypted link between the pitcher & catcher to replace the old finger signs? Nothing to ‘steal’.
