It seems like forever since democrats and repubicans could geniunely laugh hysterically together under the spell of a real first rate comic talent.
Ronald Reagan brought back class, optimism, elegance, dignity, and grace to the White House while every democrat had given up on overcoming his popular appeal.
Many Americans today do not remember or never saw the hostility that democrats and republicans had towards each other during the first two years of the Reagan Administration. The democrats belittled and criticized Roald Reagan at every turn in his first two years until ... until he won, and he won by making Americans feel good about being American while making democrats and republicans feel comfortable with each other. It was a slow unification process but it didn't start easy.
It is the same for the Trump Administration. Donald Trump is an enormously fun man with a huge heart. While the democrats are still in denial about the election results, they will eventually succumb to the reality that Americans are accepting of President Trump's growing appeal, tweets and all, just as they grew fond in the first two years of Ronald Magnimus.

These are not the democrats of 1980-82.
The democrat party has taken a hard left turn and wears hate as clothing.
They will never work with President Trump, they no longer know how to work with the opposition.
Plus there are enough RINO’s who will side with the dems just to spite the nationalist Trump.

Actually, the Dems spent an enormous amount of time and energy trying to find a way to impeach Reagan. They accused him of everything under the sun. Meanwhile, they themselves were guilty of just about everything under the sun.
They used to fly down and get their pictures taken with the Sandinistas, they used to pass arms control legislation over to the Soviet Embassy for their review and comment, they literally asked the Soviets for help in defeating Reagan at the polls. They prosecuted Olly North in an effort to get him to flip and go state’s evidence against Reagan.
He was constantly mocked as being too stupid to be president, too rich (though in reality Democrat cabinets are typically richer...)
Yep. And it was worse his first two years.
But it didn’t stop Ronnie codename ‘Rawhide’ from winning hearts and minds of Americans.
The point is that Donald will grow in appeal and popularity and the dems will die if they don’t change. Some of the posters above make good points that the dems today are too radicalized to change but I predict they will because they will have no other choice.
Republicans are also liars and schemers. In fact, some repubs are covert dems for convenience and subversion. For example, McCain, Cochran, Barbours, etc.
I am independent and this is a conservative forum, not a republican forum.
