Another tip [not that you asked *LOL*] but if you’re headed west and hooking up I-91 in Vermont, you should stop at FarmWay, in Bradford, VT.

[We affectionately call it *North Overalls*]

FarmWay is wonderful ...it surpasses Kittery Trading Post with depth and breadth of rooms to wander through and good gear to buy/try on. And lacks the crowds of tourists. Very pleasant stop. Nothing is cheap but selection is incredible [unless they are running an end-o-season sale w/ discounts]

And if you have kids....put a penny on the RR tracks that run alongside the store. Great fun!

VT Country Store is south a piece; few minutes off I-91 in Rockingham. Bring me back some maple nut fudge. :)

In Rockingham...off the beaten path is the Rockingham Meeting house. Set on a knoll, it's easy to miss; beautiful, quintessential New England building, untouched by time.

If you have time stroll the cemetery.

It's so beautiful. The caretaker may be there, you can get inside to see the wonderful box pews. I love this building; to me, it's more impressive than Mt. Vernon or Monticello. Simple architecture for a simple people who formed the backbone of this Nation.

Sorry, I got carried away. :) Have great fun! We were up there last Friday.

I do greatly appreciate it.

I can always think of things to do and places to go, but my wife seems to have a much broader store of these things than I do, mostly because she has lived around here longer than I have, and her parents were very history minded and took them to a lot of places.

For me, to be able to suggest something she hasn’t been to or seen (and I know she hasn’t been to these) is pure gold for me!

As for the Vermont Country Store...Love it! I like the one that has the burger place right next to the entrance...I get one of those old fashioned sodas, and a nice, greasy tasty cheeseburger on a grilled bun, and we sit in one of the swinging chairs and eat our stuff as we watch the people come and go!

I mean it-thanks again!

Mildred’s Dairy Bar! Nice spot for a respite.

I imagine this last weekend of the summer, it will be mobbed.
