Uh, guys? Why would you scan a thousand foot long ship by passing in front of it? Would it not make far more sense to pass along side of the target ship to be scanned and only need to scan across the width of the ship as you steal along side instead of trying to scan the distance through the length of the ship as you dart across the oncoming bow?

Just a common sense observation that shoots your theory, er, out of the water, so-to-speak.

They write these clickbait stories to sell to people that have never served shipboard in the Nav.

Signal interference with lookouts stationed Port/starboard and fore and aft. People are freaking asleep on watch or theyre not using lookouts anymore because they got all this fancy Dan electronic crap
