In n an unassuming building in the heart of hip and gritty south Tel Aviv, a young distillery is hours away from auctioning off a batch of what it calls the first Israeli-made single malt whiskey.
And of course it's kosher.
The distillery is unloading its first "experimental series" of the spirit, aged only three years, by offering 100 bottles in an online auction and another 291 bottles are being sold locally.

I lost all desire for whiskey after I mixed it with grape pop at my brother’s wedding reception. I had a friend from high school over and he got wasted too. The funniest part is he got up before everyone else and washed the dishes. Never figured out why he did it but Mom sure appreciated it.
Curious as to how whiskey becomes kosher.

slip a rabbi a franklin and boom, it`s Kosher
Production supervised by a Rabbi to make sure no additives are made from unkosher ingredients, and to make sure that the barrels it's aged in didn't previously hold unkosher wine.
Had my first macllelan 18..and first time I had scotch. Broke out in sweats
I love Israel and I love single malt. However three years in the cask is not near enough. Perhaps if they let the light of the Sea of Galilee shine on them every morn for a brief period for 12 years I would be interested in paying a great price for a great whisky if it is great.
The Scottish are watching! They do have standards in relationship to good drink.
