I worked with women like that. They wouldn’t style their hair or wear perfume if their lives depended on it ... and would mock YOU if you did. It’s pure envy because I don’t know what else to call it. Of course, they were all Liberals and laughably hooked on their earth shoes and dated jeans and t shirts.
My boss told me one day:”I don’t know how you can wear heels.’
I said: “Frumpy, dumpy doesn’t work for me.”
SHE was poster girl for ‘frumpy dumpy’. Personally, I think homely girls really like that way of dressing, because it makes everyone look like THEM!! :)

High heels aren't for everyone. Either are two scoops of ice cream. It's good to have people in the WH who think for themselves and don't follow the dictates of the PC police.
I'm not going to criticize the author's appearance. It's her choice. I will criticize the value judgements in what she chooses to write about, however.
Read this this morning & was open mouthed at how pathetic as a smear attempt it was. I felt intense embarrassment for the “writer.”
When I see women walking in those really high heels, I almost wince; they look so uncomfortable! And unsafe; they couldn’t run a half dozen steps if life and limb depended upon it.
