Good points. But ideas means things. I am not into personality worship. To the extent that Trump supports conservative ideas I support him. If he wanders into liberal territory I won’t support him. Having said that Trump is about all we’ve got right now and I am grateful for that.
In the case of this Alabama primary case it won’t be a huge deal whichever of the three men become Senator IMO. Differences? Yes. Preferences? Yes. But compared to most states Alabama is lucky to have what we’ve got.

My guess: For this specific endorsement McConnell made a promise to Trump (regarding either tax reform or healthcare) that won’t be kept.
I think they all are at the end of the day with the exception of President Trump.
The SOP GOP line is “border security” or some variation on that.
It covers their desire to import cheap labor for the crony capitalists through front doors or back doors like H1 visas.

Absolutely, and I hope the best man wins in AL. I just get nuts when people try to pin the “conservative” label on Trump and beat him up with it. He isn’t, but getting upset with Trump when he doesn’t do certain conservative things is like getting angry at a mastiff because he won’t run into little holes and chase rabbits.
I agree with most of that. But I also don’t give someone a complete pass on everything either. Some do. Not me.

It is traditional for the President to support the incumbent.
He may have sources.
It’s his despicable foulness that marginalizes everything he has to say. In fact, his foul language and bad hair cut is all he has for a reputation.
No one takes him seriously until some factoid he might foul with his mouth, is published elsewhere, from a more dignified source than himself. Wrapping his occasional facts in trash talk is the cause of all the deaf ears.

In all seriousness, why did President Trump endorse the establishment candidate? McConnell’s candidate, Luther Strange?
How doe this drain the swamp? Strange is an insider.
Ironic that McConnell’s trashing Trump all day and Trump endorses McConnell’s guy.
McConnell needs to be unseated as leader of senate—this does not help to do that.
