PHOENIX (AP) - A customer pulled a gun and shot a man who police say had jumped over the counter of a Phoenix pharmacy and pointed a gun at people while demanding opioids. Authorities didn't fault the customer, saying he was in the right place at the right time to stop the armed robbery attempt Tuesday night, police Sgt. Jonathan Howard said.

The suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Stephen Holguin, but police didn't immediately release any other information on him.

Howard said the customer has been interviewed and released pending further investigation, but has declined to be identified or participate in media interviews at this time.

Arizona is among a number of states grappling with a surge of opioid abuse. The state had 790 opioid deaths in 2016, a 16 percent increase from 2015.

The robber must be some kind of stupid to do that in an open carry state.

Even the excerpt shows you to be wrong.

Happy ending all around. Dead guy, no waste of money on him.

“the suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Stephen Holguin.” There are several of them on mugshots.com as having been arrested in Maricopa County, so you have to search them by age.

Defense of Self and Defense of Others.... A Reasonable Expectation of an Imminent Threat of Lethal Harm. Armed robbery qualifies. Ergo, the user had signed his own death warrant, and was just waiting for any random stranger to notarize it for him.

I always thought that I was involved in a shooting, like this one, I would induce a friend or passer by to steal my gun before the cops got there and retrieve it later, and tell the cops that somebody took my gun, thus preventing them from stealing my gun.

The cost of the possibility of losing your firearm. Is cheap compared to the trouble you would cause your self.

It your in the right tampering with evidence or the crime scene is a huge way to bring unnecessary attention to your self.
