The Council on American-Islamic Relations is alleging someone at the McDonald's off Point Mallard Parkway intentionally placed small pieces of bacon in a Muslim family's McChicken sandwiches. Most Muslims do not eat pork products, such as bacon, for religious reasons. A McDonald's executive said in a statement Tuesday that the restaurant is looking into the matter.
We want to assure our customers that this was not an intentional act by our employees, Rick Walter, local McDonalds owner/operator, said through a Nashville public relations firm. We value every customer and strive to ensure all orders are accurately prepared and served." The family had spent the day at Point Mallard Water Park and stopped at McDonald's at 3342 Point Mallard Parkway at Interstate 65 for lunch Monday afternoon, said Khaula Hadeed, executive director of the Alabama chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. The three women and four children are from New York, and were in the area visiting an aunt, who lives in Huntsville, she said. After noticing a "smoky" taste in the sandwiches, the family opened the sandwiches to find a single small piece of bacon in each sandwich, Hadeed said. "The bacon was either on top of the chicken or hidden underneath within the sandwich so (the consumer) couldnt tell if it was there or not. Thats why we think this was intentional," she said. The family ordered 14 sandwiches and already had eaten several when the bacon was found, Hadeed said. The size of the bacon pieces also led CAIR executives to believe this was an intentional act, she said. Hadeed said McDonald's menu says a McChicken sandwich consists of chicken, lettuce and mayonnaise on a bun. The sandwich does not include bacon.
"If it was a mistake, there would be a bigger piece of bacon," she said. The women told Hadeed that when they took the sandwiches to the counter to ask a manager about the bacon, they heard employees from the back saying the bacon "fell" onto the sandwiches. The manager gave the family a refund for the meal, but the manager was not able to say how the bacon got on the sandwiches, Hadeed said. The family claims one of the children is allergic to bacon and became sick both at the restaurant and in Huntsville after eating the sandwiches, Hadeed said. Religion aside, Hadeed said this situation is an issue of complying with customer requests. "For a restaurant, their first job is to give the customer what theyre requesting. They requested a McChicken, and they produced one with something they didnt ask for," she said.
Should cost McD’s anything. If the Muzzies hate our culture, then they can go back to Muzzieland.
The kid got sick from bacon allergy...nonsense (in polite language).
A highly intolerant minority will always impose their will on a majority.
This is just part of their scheme to intimidate businesses to serve halal food.
Bkmrk.
I agree, but we should take the moral high ground at every opportunity.
We don’t need to create another whiny, perpetually-aggrieved oppressed class demanding reparations for “bacon bias”.
If the assholes who ordered the meals didn’t specify “no bacon” then it’s not the fault of the employees or the franchise. WTF are we supposed to magically know that you don’t eat bacon? WTF is wrong with these numbnuts Christian business owners so willing to be beat over the head by the terrorist front CAIR?
How would they know he had a bacon allergy if he had never eaten it? Looking for more money for pain and suffering.
Yes, you are to presume they are Muslim and do not eat pork. Just think “what would Mohammed do”.
Did they have to pay extra for the bacon? If not, they are lucky.
Us regular people have to pay extra.
Sigh.
Yet one more way that mussies receive preferential treatment.
Not fair.
I smell a lawsuit coming on.
If they wanted to “have it your way”, they should’ve gone to Burger King.
I couldn’t tell from the picture whether there was any bacon or not. Probably another hoax. Even if there was bacon, how do we know that it was not added by the family?
Bet they loved driving down 6th avenue with the bbq joints smoke wafting in their car. I know 3 in close proximity. ;)
Stay in Huntsville next time a**holes.
McDonalds does make a Chicken/Bacon sandwich. It is a step
above what they ordered or thought they ordered.
This doesn’t appear to indicate anyone has admitted doing it:
