Then I am doubly peculiar.

When I was growing up in rural Mississippi, 50’s and 60’s...

Nobody expects people your age to maintain a FB account. No offense but not having one will be the least of your worries should you ever find yourself at a job interview. This being said, it would be a good idea to maintain one if you job-hunting.

A Millennial not having a Facebook account is going to look strange to an employer. It's going to be a flashing red light. "Will this guy be a team player or he is a loner?"

Your pushing fear tactics.

No reason to have a Facebook account, even for Millennials.

Plenty of other ways to document who you are and to sell your abilities to employers.

I’ve noticed that most executives do not have a facebook account.

None of my 3 college-aged kids have FB accounts. Having one actually dates you.

That said, I have a dummy account I use to research potential new hires, and yes, it’s part of my job responsibilities. I don’t have a “real” account.

My millenial son isn’t on FB. They use Snapchat and probably other social media I don’t even know about, but FB isn’t used much.
