House Dem IT Suspects Wanted Untraceable Payments — And Sure Enough, Millions Disappeared
Daily Caller ^ | Jul 5, 2017 | Luke Rosiak

A Pakistani family under criminal investigation by the U.S. Capitol Police for abusing their access to the House of Representatives information technology (IT) system may have engaged in myriad other questionable schemes besides allegedly placing “ghost employees” on the congressional payroll.

Imran Awan, his wife Hina, and brothers Abid and Jamal collectively netted more than $4 million in salary as IT administrators for House Democrats between 2009 and 2017. Yet the absence of signs of wealth displayed among them raise questions such as was the money sent overseas or did something other than paychecks motivate their actions?

But official documents, court records and multiple interviews suggest the crew may have engaged in tax fraud, extortion, bankruptcy fraud and insurance fraud and the money could have been funneled overseas. Abid has hired high-profile attorney James Bacon who specializes in anti-money laundering litigation.

The family owns significant amounts of Virginia rental properties, which are heavily financed, with second mortgages sometimes taken out. It’s unclear where the rental income goes because the Awans insist tenants pay in odd ways.

The Daily Caller News foundation interviewed multiple current and former tenants who said Imran insisted rent be paid in untraceable ways.

He only wants cash — for the security deposit, everything. The mortgage is probably $600, we pay $1,800 a month,” one said.

“I would write the rent to all sorts of different people,” another claimed. While still another tenant said the family insisted on blank money orders.

If they simply had four million in salary over this period (eight years)...with federal tax and Maryland or Virginia state tax figured in...they would have only gone home with half their income. I can attest to the various taxes (state tax, property tax, vehicle tax, sales tax, etc).

However, it appears they were very smart in taking their income and plowing this into property purchases (thus getting tax credits....all legal of course), and then easily working the renters into paying the monthly rent in an untraceable situation.

This would come out to $1.3 million over the eight years...which was never taxed by the state or federal folks. Where is the money today? That might be an interesting question to ask.

I might be curious to turn around to the rest of the employees of all Senators and House members, and ask from their staffs....how many of you own two or more homes, and how do you handle monthly rent income? Wanna take a bet that more than forty people are hiding income like this and working for the political leadership?

I assume the money supported the democrat agenda, which would be why democrats never objected. Top priorities would be funding those who engage in violence against the West in general and against Jews in particular. Their hatred for all that is good would have been more than enough for them to overlook a little corruption from what America's enemies in the Ctrl-Left sees as allies in a good cause.

Every time the democrats don’t want something talked about in the news they come up with a diversionary tactic to shift the discussion. I wonder what the smoke screen will look like this time.

It would probably take an entire lifetime to root out the corruption that is the democrat party and the swamp. Unfortunately, Trump doesn’t have that much time.

"The Capitol Police criminal investigation has gone on for months, but of more than a dozen people with ties to the Awans who were interviewed by TheDCNF, most have not been contacted by officials." . . . Daily Caller News Foundation

Addressing the Capitol Police . . . The former DNC Chairwoman states

“If a Member loses equipment and it is found by your staff and identified as that member’s equipment and the member is not associated with any case, it is supposed to be returned. Yes or no?”

“We can’t return the equipment,” Police Chief Matthew R. Verderosa told the Florida Democrat.

“I think you’re violating the rules when you conduct your business that way and you should expect that there will be consequences,” . . . Debbie Wasserman Schultz

Hey, Debbie . . . pretty much thinking you are very much associated with this case. In fact, thinking you are pretty much in the center of this case

Hey, Debbie, why would Imran have the password to your laptop? Even your closest aides did not. Pleeeeeeese spare us with your the victim and we are racist routines. Sooooo boring

Though this web of corruption, including the help of the media in hiding it, may be impossible to unweave, America has an opportunity to begin some kind of cleansing simply because of Trump’s election and the fact that he is not indebted to the Swamp Dwellers for his position. Therefore, they cannot control him in order to keep their gig going and that is the key to helping him to stand fast.

Here is how it’s looking to me.

DWS employed them to spy on other house members, she then passed this information off to the Clintons and probably Obama.

That’s costs extra above and beyond salaries.

The fact that republicans are not shouting this story from every media outlet tells me lots about the integrity of the republicans.

The mainstream media is spiking the reporting of this story big time. Hannity, having almost lost his job by reporting on Seth Rich’s murder, is under reporting this story. Drudge, as of yesterday, was not reporting this story.

This story is huge and deserves to be over reported!!!

Debbie was stumbling during that exchange. There was a lot of emotion behind that conversation and she was doing her best t rein it in and not blow up. It sounded like she was about to cry when she threatened him at the very end.

Could be. My take is a little simpler; I’m thinking it’s all about money. I think it’s a big money laundrying scheme. Money goes from Debbie to Pakistan IT guy who kicks back some of it to Debbie. What’s the old saying, follow the money? Follow the money and the trail will lead to Sweet Debbie....

Neither you, I or anyone else has enough time on this earth to undo the corruption that has grown so enormous within our own government. While I support Trump, neither he nor his successors will ever be able to remove or eliminate the huge “cancer” of corruption that has plagued this once great country.

Hopefully not, but I’ve come to think of the corruption in politics as a bit similar to corruption in specific police departments. If you don’t take the money, the rest don’t trust you, and when you come into the system they try to involve you in something they can then blackmail you with. It keeps everyone in line. This may be why the democrats are more cohesive than the Republicans.
