There is no “if/when”. The bigger problem is the RINOs (de-facto Dems) that will hold on to their seats for dear life.
The reason why there is an Article V movement is so that the the people via the states can institute term limits among other things. That is the built-in check and balance against a colluding central government in DC that was never supposed to be what it is; not even the Seventeenth Amendment can withstand that.

There are 25 RATS up in 2018 in the Senate, including the two lefty “independents” Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Angus King of Maine. Ten of those RATS are up in red states.
The GOP has only eight senators up for re-election in 2018.
The RATS winning the Senate in 2018 is a very steep hill for them to even attempt to climb.

It takes more than control of the Senate to remove a president. It takes a 2/3rds vote. Also, some squish pubbie Senators might vote to remove Trump, but they would not vote to remove Pence.
