I thought this story was going to be about that canned gun bacon that has a shelf life of like a million years and everybody says tastes good but is kind of expensive.
But, no.
It’s about motorcycles.
Good luck HD.
The new generation is looking forward to autonomous transport, sadly.
A stick shift is too much to master, let alone foot driven shifting.
So do the Honda Gold Wings and many other touring bikes, along with Motoguzzis, BMWs and others. My cousins own the Italian dealerships in Des Moines and they’ve seen no sign of problems.
Younger US buyers are looking for a rice rocket.
Harilies are no longer cool and they’re not great bikes.
Last time I ended up inadvertently with a crowd attending a motorcycle rally, I really brought the average age in the area down. And I was almost 60 at the time.
Motorcycle riding seems to be an old man’s sport.
I would have a Harley Davidson motorcycle but for the fact that I’m still picking gravel out of my arms from that wreck I had riding a motorcycle 40 years ago.
People fear me when they see me on a bike!
They’re afraid I’ll ruin their shocks if they run over me after I crash.
And what would a tool named Ankit Ajmera know anything about American Iron. Half the post here are just as clueless. I know a person that still rides a Knucklehead, 1949, triple chrome plated forkings by Frank, mirror finish. $40k motorcycle. My old ‘86 4 speed chain drive Sportster is more than half the “experts” here could handle. It clearly will jerk a knot in your *ss if you can ride it and the best handling bike of ANY I have ever ridden. FR is really entertaining since free trader types now rule the day. Anything but American. Spit.
Harley Davidson made of tin,
Ride em out, push em in.
Riding a Harley or not one shouldn’t speak ill of them....it’s unAmerican.....lol
have you seen the line up of late? - they are generic looking machines with no historical styling cues ...Bo-ring. Don’t blame this on boomers not buying...Todays machine is not a self wrenching friendly machine it used to be...I had an 84 sportster - I worked on it myself...and ended up with a really cool bike....I wouldn’t dare attempt it now....even then HD wouldn’t share paint codes....screw em.
