How about putting an import duty on software code that is written and compiled overseas for thousands to millions and then brought into the US for no charge?

My mother recently relayed a story about when my dad was working a job for $100/week back in 1967 and the apartment they were in cost about $148/month. The wages work out to about $744.54/week in 2017 dollars (or $18.61/hour) and the rent is about $1,100/month. Not only is the worth of the currency degraded, but of course so is the worth of the labor.

No we need to bring back production to America.

All we are doing is making other countries wealthy.

It is time to build up American jobs, once again.

Since the military is a landing pad for social issues let’s expand the practice and start with manufacturing all uniforms items for the Uniformed Services, all accessories, all Footwear all peripheral equipment in the USA.

That includes down to the raw material level (I.e. thread, fabric, leather etc...).

Follow up with ALL equipment down to the raw material level.

In 1967 and thereabouts 5200 was decent pay, 10 grand per annum was in good shape etc etc.

Today, I don’t want to put my pants on and start my truck unless I am getting 150-200 per DAY...or better

Lets just say that in 1976 I purchased a house with very little hassle (GI Bill) and not so sure what I would be able to do today (Not sure if VA will go 2nd time?? especially at my age)

No we need to bring back production to America.

Demanding that producers produce at a loss is no answer. Change the laws to make domestic production profitable and the world's industries will flock to our shores again. Keep the current setup where all the politically-connected grifters get their cut first, and production will stay offshore.
