I think the same effect exists with sugar-free Tea. Especially black Tea.

Coffee makes you live longer
Shift work kills you sooner
I do both
Hopefully it’s a wash.

Just got back from the doctor reviewing my blood work yesterday. It’s beautiful. EXCELLENT numbers. I drink coffee.
Gosh darn it, it must mean that coffee is good for me. #science!

Community Club with Chicory is a great brew.

Just after 7 am and I’m on my second cup. I take lots of cream and sugar though, so I hope they don’t negate the benefits of the coffee. I’m 62 and not on any meds (I guess I would be if I ever went to the doctor!) just supplements. So far so good though!

Yeah. Hasn't seemed to help me. Perhaps I would be much worse if I didn't drink coffee.

Once again correlation is confused with cause, by modern pop science.
Could it be that many people who already have certain health problems have given up coffee?
And maybe the cause and effect is reversed - just as it may be with studies that claim regular exercise lowers risk of poor health. Rather than poor health lowers ability to exercise regularly.

LOL, that would have been the way my mother and father drank coffee...he, as a 30 year Navy man, more so. It was a constant, him sitting at the kitchen table, unfiltered Pall Mall in one hand, coffee cup in the other, and a new pot brewing all the time. Me, I went my entire life without drinking coffee, but as I approach retirement, I have taken to drinking one cup every day first thing in the morning...at first it was like taking speed for me, now it is just a kick in the pants!
Like General Robert E. Lee said about war, I always drink it black, lest I grow to love it too much!

These are observational studies, not controlled clinical trials. So while they demonstrate an association, they dont prove cause and effect. A competent reporter. What a refreshing change.

The studies are stupid, but the conclusions drawn from them are stupider. The most famous “study” was the idiocy of nightlights in bedrooms of kids “causing” nearsightedness. It should have been obvious that nearsighted kids needed the damned nightlights!

I’m 67 and drink a half gallon a day of coffee. Bloodwork came back last week and everything is nearly perfect, inside the bounds of good health.
