You could buy special metal SS cards decades ago. I remember seeing them advertised in magazines.
Yes, my dad had one. BTW, he was born so long ago that my non-working mom had the same SS number as he did...with the letter A after the numbers! Caused all sorts of confusion later in their lives.
I have my late Dad’s Shield and New Testament sitting next to me on my desk as I type this. Its cover is a bit different, inscribed “May the the Lord be With You”.
I have one, but it’s copper-colored aluminum.
