By the workings of some subconscious mechanisms well never fully understand, we cant read Christiane Amanpours impassioned call last November for the long-dormant media to awaken from its slumber and save the country from mortal peril without thinking of the Anne Rice vampire fantasy Queen of the Damned
cause well be damned if it didnt work.
The thing is, its tough finding your footing back on the job after an eight-year break, so you stumble about a bit trying to look busy and productive. Take, for example, the New York Times, which is following up its comprehensive lists of every person, place, and thing Donald Trump insulted during the campaign and every lie hes told in office by publishing an annotated Constitution this weekend.

"All of this is a long way of saying 1) the Constitution is readily available without buying Sundays annotated version, and 2) it wouldnt hurt for everyone to read it, including the people who decided it needed to be published again. "
I know they print the Declaration of Independence on the back page of section one ever July 4th

First amendment:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
NYT Annotation
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,
or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; (they forgot to remove this and it wasn't supposed to be in the final version)
or abridging the freedom of speech (if the press agrees with it - see below)
, or of the press (only include honest press and NYT knows that when we see it)
; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble or unpeacably if a dictator is in the WH - the press will say if we have a dictator like we do now,
and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances (only protected minorities can have grievances).

"Learn what the country's operating manual, written in the time of George Washington, can tell us about the age of Donald Trump."
So the new york slimes will inform the peasants what the authors of the United States Constitution meant in various portions of that document?
I suppose they did not get beat up enough last night by the President of the United States.
They want to now "thought-provoke" the rest of this nation.
