OMG; the ultimate iconic baby-boomer guy's wanna buy auction item. . . Superman's cape and belt buckle from the original George Reeves 1950s TV show Superman! Included is the muscled padded underware. LOL! Now the high bidder can really be Superman!

Description: 950. George Reeves “Superman” belt buckle, cape, and muscle undersuit. (NBC, 1952-1958) This iconic red fabric cape was worn by Reeves in his still-definitive small screen portrayal of the Man of Steel after production of the 1950s series switched from black and white to color. The red and yellow felt “S” insignia patch at back face of cape is a vintage 1970s replica created by Western Costume Co. Includes an original 3 x 2 in. Superman oval brass belt buckle with small double holes for affixing to belt on top, bottom and sides. Also includes a muscle under-suit constructed of a durable synthetic satin-like fabric with sculpted rubber torso, suggesting muscular pectoral, abdominal and bicep muscles, and integral stretch fabric sleeves. Marked, “Doug”, twice on the interior, possibly from a subsequent production. Cape exhibits only minor age and wear. Muscle under-suit rubber remains supple. Exhibiting cracking to shoulders, arms, and body, tears at under-arm vents, holes to fabric sleeves, and staining to exterior chest and interior. Cape in production used fine condition. Muscle suit in production used good condition. This instantly recognizable cape comes with a copy of an LOA from Western Costume Co. dated in 1975. Muscle suit originally from the collection of special effects wizard Thol Simonson. $15,000 - $20,000

Just thought I’d weigh in here to announce I finally changed my tagline yesterday. Coincidence?

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of representative government.

Day 3 of the Hollywood auction has more Sci-Fi props including Star Trek and Star Wars goodies. This one is from the movie "Star Trek II: the Wrath of Khan" and is Kirk's personal computer from his quarters. I find it hilarious. It's a redecorated Commodore PET, complete with cassette deck!

I ordered several of those TOS gold uniform patches (long gone) but lost my appetite after seeing their current value 40 years later...
