opinion piece. A friend of mine has had a severe reaction to an antibiotic (she's been in pain for almost 2 yrs now) so she's gotten into the holistic thing, as has my sister who is actually a lot better, but she said that docs get $60k for each diabetic patient (probably lifelong) because they are prescribing statins which can cause diabetes. Anyone here get diabetes after taking a statin for CHOLESTEROL? My brother did so I'm interested.
I have a problem with big pharma and the VA. The VA seems to be the canary in the cave.
however, for fellow conspirators, here's an update on the deaths of holistic doctors. The title has a typo? it was fifteen not fifty.

Our physician wanted my wife on statins but also said her cholesterol was excellent. If her cholesterol is excellent, why the statins we asked? She said because she's diabetic as a pre-caution. Things that make you go hmmmmmm.

Type II diagnosis in December after having been on statins since 2003. Hit me like a ton of brick.

60k for a patient? Ha yeah right. Everything of value received by a doc is published. You can look it up online on the hhs website.

Her physician undoubtedly thought her levels were to high for a diabetic.

I don’t care which type of treatment your family chooses
Pharmaceutical reps bring in lunch and an educational seminar. The lynches are ok but nothing special. The seminars can be quite good
This ain’t what helps a doc decide to prescribe something

Every patient that goes to a holistic doctor is one less patient using pharmaceuticals. It’s all about the money.
To: Harmless Teddy Bear
I worked a contract in N Georgia involving a large number of clinics belonging to a larger medical conglomerate. Each day, in EVERY clinic I visited lunch was completely catered for the employees by the drug companies. That would be hundreds of dollars in catering every day for every clinic.
You think that doesn’t pay off? If it didn’t, they wouldn’t be doing it.
To: 1_Rain_Drop
Right. That's why pharmaceutical companies are thriving.
Of course, there will always be those who think the drug companies are conspiring and killing the quacks. Whaddyagonnado? Some people believe there were missiles strapped onto the planes that hit the twin towers and that bombs were buried in the buildings and went off at the same time as the planes hit. Others believe Elvis is alive and living with aliens. There's no explanation for crazy.

they should ban drug advertising and marketing. The market is the sick people and they should just concentrate on helping them rather then advertising to the masses and telling them to "ask the doc" if it's right for you.*
*disclaimer: this may cause heartburn in executive levels of big pharma, may decrease the amount of unnecessary medicine treating various made up ailments. frequent bouts of unnecessary diarrhea caused by side effects may be reduced, as well as bloating, sudden death and double bloating.

You call Holistic doctors quacks. OK.
Drug dealers always make more money. Any kind of drug.
Chicken soup or a $100 pill for your ailment?
BTW, Elvis is alive!
