I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! Zinke!!

This is one exceptionally smart cookie. Watch him: future President material.

The mass transfer of top management is a master stroke, although credit where it’s due, it’s a strategy the Nixon admin used.

“Zimke is reassigning, not firing people”

It is my understanding these people cannot be easily fired. Reassigning troublemakers to insignificant positions is a good move to start. It could take months to fire these people. It ain’t right, but that’s the way they do it.

He can’t. But not to worry, 80% or so will quit or retire. The ones left will be the best and the worst. The best will do great things and he can fire the worst over time.

Zimke is reassigning, not firing people.

As in, taking kings off their thrones and putting them to cleaning "thrones".

How many months will they put up with counting paper clips before they quit? Meanwhile, the damage they can do is very small.

Nope. Zinke is making lemonade out of a lemon. He can’t fire civil servants without cause. So, he transfers them instead. The bulk will quit rather than leave the DC hive. Many, but not all of those who remain are performers who will thrive on the change and opportunity. These are the people he wants to keep anyway.

Send them to count sod poodles in Harding County NM. 2100 square miles, 630 people.

You’re far too kind. Some obscure part of the Navajo Indian reservation will do.

They will have 3 weeks to accept re-assignment or resign.

This is something J. Christian Adams has advocated - he is the guy who left DOJ after being told the stop all investigation into the Black Panthers intimidating voters in 2008(?).

This is excellent. Disempowering the SES is going right to the deepest heart of the Swamp. These are the malefactors who have the power to sabotage presidential directives, resist change, and insure that nothing good happens.

Here’s hoping the thought of having to live in the real world will terrify at least 50% of them into retiring.
Or looking for consulting jobs or lobbying.
Buh bye.

This is the most effective feasible solution to this neck of the Swamp-- These people are DC careerists, they don't give a flip about the country outside the Beltway, and wouldn't be caught dead moving to "the Interior" they have been messing with for their whole blighted careers.

Yes there will be numerous resignations and retirements. The ranks of the lobbyists will swell, but they are thick as gnats already so the marginal change will be insignificant.

“He seems to be the one Trump appointee who is taking our advice and transferring people out of their ivory towers. Hopefully many will resign or retire rather than move.”

He WAS my congressman. I’m happy to see that he is doing well in his new ‘digs.’

Let’s remember his replacement, my new congress critter (whom I worked for early this century), decked a reporter.

MAGA!

There will be some worth keeping. Zinke is utterly methodical so those worth keeping have likely already been identified and will stay and thrive at their new jobs.

FWIW, I bet Zinke knew in detail how he wanted to shake things up before he even took the job. Which is why our President hired him.
