Hollywood Elite Don't Want You to Have Clean Versions of Movies! Stand Up For The Family!
http://www.citizengo.org/ ^ | 06/19/2017 | Movieguide

For too long, Hollywood has inserted offensive, lewd, vulgar, and violent content into movies, leaving few appropriate movie options for families.

The good news is that Sony Pictures recently announced a ‘Clean Version’ pilot program. This program will allow families to rent clean versions of certain movies. That’s right, these movies will have foul language, sexual content, and explicit violence edited out. This is fantastic news for family audiences!

But the battle for the family is never easy. Some powerful filmmakers are furious with Sony Pictures for offering this option to families and Sony is already wavering. Director Judd Apatow publicly blasted Sony, stating, “This is absolute [expletive] and Sony Pictures is gonna get [expletive] for [expletive]ing with our movies. Shove the clean versions up your [expletive].” Actor Seth Rogen spewed similarly inarticulate criticisms of Sony.

Sign this petition to support Sony! Help us show Sony and these filmakers that we want clean versions, not just from Sony, but from all Hollywood studios.

We applaud Sony Pictures for making this bold decision, and we implore them to not buckle under pressure from a few anti-family filmmakers.

I was just thinking. Do I have to give up my Die Hard movies?

I watched a show on Netflix called “The Ranch” that stars Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Debra Winger and Sam Elliott.
I noticed besides being a lousy show that they talk about sex all the time and swear alot and not just the usual damn and hell but other swear words just to swear.

Netflix and Amazon new shows are like this just to be different. They must think this is entertaining but it is not. Example on CBS is “The Big Bang Theory” which is a funny show but they swear alot which is unneeded. I guess the writers get paid by the word and when they cannot think of any dialog they throw in swearing.

The sex and violence is the only reason people pay money to see these things.

You think sales and attendance is low now, take out all the good crap and no one will pay $10 for a tub of greasy popcorn.

Studies have long shown that PG and PG-13 movies do better at the box office. They earn Hollywood more money.

Yet Hollywood - with their perverse agenda - will insert f-bombs and unnecessary sex scenes in a movie just to get an R rating. Even though it drives down ticket sales.

Why don’t they try PRODUCING clean movies from the get-go? Alot easier.

Why is it the golden age managed all these ADULT movies that managed NOT to be “childish”/immature? Truly adult; mature subjects that still could be watched in front of children? Biggest concern was kids would be bored.

Now, they should clean up the so-called Children’s movies! Sick of the disgusting potty humor and blatant sexuality, the “edginess” put in with music, as well as proseletizing for EnviroMental religion and spanish-speaking pushes.

One usually has a good idea who the bad guy is, though. No foulness needed.

Someone mentioned GWTW and the word “damn” at the very end.

But GWTW has one of the very best horrifying scenes ever - when Scarlett (Leigh) uses her superb facial acting along with a man doing great wailing to indicate the horrific action of cutting off a limb. Not one drop of gore. Just fantastic environment set-up.

As a fan of old movies, I totally support the Hayes Code idea. It worked, and just some more creativity is necessary. Totally works.

But PG movies are often being dumbed down. Plenty of cussing and potty humor and sexual innuendo.

I remember when PSYCHO was first to be shown on TV. About 5 minutes before it was to be shown it was pulled.

I remember other ADULTS ONLY movies from the 1950s and early 1960s. Saw several of them not long ago. They are so mild you could drop the kids off as a child would not understand them.
Then Bobby Kennedy got shot. The news media led a hysteria campaign against comic books, guns, pulp novels, TV show “violence” and movies on the screen.
Comic books changed their formats, pulp novels replaced their sex and blood dripping covers, gun laws were passed. TV shows for adults (but still safe for kids) were dumbed down to kiddie shows.
Movie producers said they would “police” themselves with a joke of a ratings code. GMRX was the first.
Hot Dog! They HAYs code is dead! Movies were reshot to add scenes of raw sex ad violence. Vile language became the norm.
Now it has crept back into TV shows.

Question. You watch a vile movie on your TV with lots of the worst language imaginable, with your kids in the room.

If a neighbor came into your house and began to curse in the same fashion would you allow it or tell them to leave.

I’ve read that back in the 1960s Hollywood made two versions of a movie. One for Europe and one for the USA.

I saw a western movie (HEAVEN WITH A GUN) back in 1969 which was safe for kids and there were several in the audience.

I saw the same movie on cable TV not long ago. It must have been a European version as, if released in the USA back then it would have been given an heavy R rating. No cursing, but several sex scenes added.

Then there was RIOT and ROMEO AN JULIET both rated R in 1969.
Now RIOT is considered PG-13 and Romeo and Juliet is rated PG.

I saw a poster many years ago of things you were not supposed to show in a movie, at that time..
Law enforcement defeated.
Drinking.
Gambling,
Women smoking.
the inside of a woman’s thigh.

The POSTER showed a woman with a cigarette in her mouth, a split dress with her left leg upon a stool showing the inside of the thigh, booze, cards, money, dice on a table and at the bottom a cop laying dead on the floor.

Hope Sony holds strong. This is a great idea. A friend used to prepare movies for her children by editing out inappropriate material on two vcr’s. It took her some time but she wanted the kids to be able to talk to the other kids about a popular movie so that they wouldn’t feel isolated and left out. I always thought she was the best mother. I’m finding less and less movies I can watch. Thank goodness for the fast forward button. Unfortunately, that often means missing the majority of the film.

On local Classic Rock Radio Stations, they cut the Verse in Dire Straits song “Money for Nothing”. Nothing like PC...

This is the Verse:

See the little faggot with the earring and the make up
Yeah buddy that’s his own hair
That little faggot got his own jet airplane
That little faggot he’s a millionaire.

Remember the outrage when Ted Turner colorized old Movies?

I still haven’t heard Mark Knopfler or any other Musicians complaining about their Art being censored. Just sayin’...

Damn - that is ironic. True, funny tale. Shortly after seeing that movie re-release in the 1960s, we saw the movie McClintock. My brother, still a sprout, was asked how he enjoyed John Wayne’s new movie. His answer: “Well, it had two damns and a hell, but it was pretty good.” :-)

And when I DREAM OF JEANIE was introduced to TV, Barbara Eden could NOT show her navel. It was imperative that be covered or it would have been a bridge too far.

The more subtle messages, the political ones, are the ones that bother me more. I will never forget America History X. The movie is great until the very end. We discover the boys became skinheads because their father was pissed that affirmative action meant he missed a promotion to a “black” employee.

That’s right. You disagree with affirmative action and your kids will grow up to be skinheads.

Two movies I watched on Netflix recently where I liked the even handed political message - regarding slavery:

1) 12 years a slave
2) Free state of Jones

I thought both had good political messages, and didn't rely on vulgarity to get their message across.

I basically agree with you. The foul language doesn’t bother me. What does is the introduction of gay characters. I just can’t bear it anymore.

The wife and I tried the “Ranch” last week. Wife said “meh, too predictable.” The be fair comedies are really really hard to pull off. We did like Santa Clara diet.

Yes, Michael Medved wrote a book on this in the early 90s. It is like movie producers rather forgo profit if it means perverting society.
