Since trying Cosby for this "questionable" case was part of his campaign rhetoric, he will retry.
The previous D.A. (at the time of the civil suit) said not enough evidence to take to criminal trial.
If a woman is raped, usually she doesn't wait a year to notify authorities, which she did.
They settled the civil suit for an "undisclosed amount" and that deposition was to remain sealed. The AP had it unsealed, which brings us to this point.
Not 40 yrs ago, but this one was from the 1990s I believe.
This one was from 2004 actually and she went to the police with it within a year of it happening after she told her mother that Cosby raped her.
Justice in life is uncommon.
If Justice means getting what you want, or think you are owed, maybe not so common.
If Justice means a chance to have your case heard and decided on based on a universal standard than it happens sometimes but not often enough. The final Justice awaits us but on earth we only have human justice administered with human frailties but often that’s good enough.
I have a guilty belief in Karma so I think the truly evil have things, $, but not happiness of spirit which is the worst punishment.
Why has there been no outcry against the prosecution of a black man while ignoring the white man (Bill Clinton)?
Like I said, if the provable facts in this case are as presented, I could not have voted to convict.
The pending civil cases in CA appear to be Gloria Allred cases - to me that is a red flag too.
He was wrong - after all, he was married, but she was also wrong, getting involved with a married man. He was well known at Temple, where she worked, so it wasn't that he was a stranger.
That's what my barber was telling me as he cut my hair this morning. Fox News was on in the barbershop while I waited 45 minutes for my turn, during which the mistrial story broke.

Rape cases are the hardest to get a conviction. The defendant claims the sex was consensual and the prosecutor has a terrible time trying to prove a negative (she did not consent) beyond a reasonable doubt.
Whatever.
The aged Cosby is already guilty is the minds of millions of Americans.
His name is Mud/Mudd. He’s lost his good name and sterling reputation. He’s no longer “America’s Dad.”
His humiliated wife has stood by his side.
On the plus and brighter side, Gloria Alled’s daughter, that horrid Lisa Bloom, has yet to get a pay day for her representation of one of the “victims”!
However there are numerous civil trials pending, not for the rapes, but for the defamatory statements made by and on behalf of Cosby in attacking is female accusers. All are within the SOL.
It really gets interesting if Cosby dies (he is 80.) His estate would then become the Def, and Cosby would have no chance to return from the grave to defend himself!
“I think the truly evil have things, $, but not happiness of spirit which is the worst punishment.”
I feel the same, but those who lack happiness of spirit can cause a lot of hurt in the interim.
Yes they can and often to the innocent which is tragic.
