I used to be a big boxing fan. But about ten years ago, I got fed up with the lousy refs, and the crummy judges. Have things gotten better? I grew up watching the Tuesday night fights with my Grandfather, and I kinda miss that.
McGregor is a smart guy, he may figure something out, but he is not a Boxer.
Look what Diaz did to him w jabs and punches and Diaz isn’t a Boxer either
I think he would be better off moving from the longer MMA range. McGregor has longer reach and is very athletic. It is speculation, but if he tries to stay in the pocket with Mayweather he will lose.
It will end in a draw.
>>Who is going to pay money to watch this farce? <<

My sentiments exactly.
The world does have an exciting new champion, however. His name is Errol Spence, from Dallas. Welterweight (147 lb).
Very, very good boxer.

The odds certainly greatly favor Mayweather. However, if anyone is going to beat him, it is likely to be someone who has a highly unconventional style. Floyd is so skilled at living in the pocket, giving his opponent the shoulder, then popping out a few quick punches before he slips away. He can, and does, do that for 12 rounds completely neutralizing the other fighter’s aggression. What Floyd is not as adept at is dodging punches from ridiculous angles, punches that no trained boxer would throw. That’s where McGregor has a chance. If Mayweather’s defense doesn’t work as usual, we’ll see him really put to the test.
I agree 100%. While Floyd is unquestionably a better boxer, he will be facing the most unorthodox striker he’s ever faced in his life. Conor has a very good chin and significant power. It honestly would not surprise me if he pulled off the upset.
Ping
I have never liked Mayweather and would love to see him get his butt kicked but I don't see it happening here.
If it’s under boxing rules Conor gets starched. If he can take Mayweather down, it’s over for Floyd. I wouldn’t pay to watch either.
It’s a boxing match. But at a weight (154) higher than Mayweather normally fights.
I have no plans to pay but I certainly hope to watch it.
I see Mayweather winning this by decision as usual.
I do not think that Conor will be able to outscore him or land on him sufficiently enough to knock him out or get a TKO.
It’s an interesting match up, I suppose, but this is not something I would spend actual money on to see.
I like watching Conor fight under MMA rules, but I do not care for Mayweather’s style.
Yeah. I’m of the thought that whether a Mayweather fight is entertaining or not depends on what the opponent does as he just does his counterpunching game, period.
Manny did jack. We’ll see what Conor does.
A loss would be devastating for Mayweather’s legacy, I can’t see it happening. But Conor needs a good showing to avoid embarrassment.
I see Mayweather winning by TKO. I question McGregor’s wind after 4 or so rounds. Mayweather is too fast and is an expert at avoiding punishment. I see it going to about 4 or 5 rounds and a stoppage.
I won’t be buying it either. I may change my mind, though :)
September 6th is going to be a massive draw. Canelo Alvarez vs. GGG
GGG is going to win...
Doesn’t make it out of the first round.
Yeah, I’m starting to lean that direction myself. McGregor has no business in the ring with Mayweather.
