If Obamacare fails, it’ll be bad news for Trump
Yahoo! Finance ^ | 6/7/17 | Rick Newman

Some ACA critics—virtually all of them Republican—seem to delight at the prospect of Obamacare crumbling one county at a time, perhaps obviating the need to pass legislation that would formally repeal it. But this seems remarkably short-sighted.

Trump’s attacks on the ACA, and the real prospect of repeal under Republican-controlled government, have pushed public approval of the law to the highest levels ever. Americans disapprove of Republican plans to roll back the ACA and particularly dislike proposed cuts to Medicaid. So Republicans are now threatening programs Americans more or less like.

This is the mindset of libtards in the media today. Boy that Obummer is one lucky dude - heads he wins, tails we lose. Everything that was a problem for him was "Bush's fault". All the turds he left behind magically turns into "Trump's fault".

No wonder he played so much golf and went on so many vacations. He had nothing to worry about!

This guy couldn’t be more wrong. Hope all democrats believe this, and keep the fail coming for their party.

We have to pass it to see what is in it...

Passed without ONE republican vote or amendment...

Obamacare only passed due to the ‘stupidity’ of the American voter...

But it is all DJT fault???

Liberalism is a mental disease.

Sometimes I feel like worrying about all this stuff is like being a German in 1944 Germany worrying about what Hitler is going to do in 1947.

With our health-care delivery system experiencing a man-made collapse and price spike, it all seems like a plan to institute single-payer - and all of DC, including the core of the GOP, seem complicit.

We need an end-run of some kind. A kind of cloward-piven for conservatives

Trump’s attacks on the ACA, and the real prospect of repeal under Republican-controlled government, have pushed public approval of the law to the highest levels ever.

Let us assume that this statement is correct, though it is all assumption at least as o the cause of the poll numbers.

What this shows is that approval ratings change, and often for no good reason.

In the case of the Republican legislators, they have to look at the approval ratings of those who voted them in, who overwhelmingly oppose Obamacare. Backing out of a campaign promise will not get fresh left votes, but it will sure alienate your supporters. There might be a couple of exceptions in Maine and California, but for nearly all, that's where it stands.

Either way, those approval numbers won't be where they are now come 11/2018. Fools play that game.

But it is all DJT fault???

He isn't saying it's Trump's fault, he's saying it's Trump's problem. And I think he's right.

Trump (and every other Republican) claimed to have a better solution. We gave them the chance. If things fall apart it will only make it clear that they were lying for political expediency.

How does this make it Trump's problem???

ObamaScare was the DEMS. problems...remember ‘you don't know what's in it until you vote on it’...piglosi said...

No one for a while could get on the website, always down for some reason, and now it wasn't because of to many people getting on it...

Then the guy that designed it said it was a scam...

Well now people are going without health insurance and why??? All because of the DEMOCRATS to put money in their pockets and those of the lobbyists that wrote the bill...

And NOT ONE REPUBLICAN voted on it...then President Trump put a bill to take out ObamaScare and the Congress Critters can't seem to get ‘around to it’....

This is NOT President's Trump fault, if anything it's the Uniparty’s fault!!!

How does this make it Trump's problem???

Maybe because he promised he had a wonderful solution, and we gave him the chance to prove it?

I agree. I used to always wonder what they felt like and how they let him do what he did. Now I know. They will let all over 55 who are ill die in pain.

California gov passed single payer now it has 2 more steps to go before they get it. No more medicare, medical. Over 580k medical people will be out of work. Plus 2 more mil families who relied on those who where employed in medical care.

John and Ken had a doctor on last week, it was a sobering interview.

Cost 400billion. Illegals will get top medical care while the rest of Californians wait in line to die.

Single payer just around the corner.

I am a guessing that "single-payer" was supposed to kick in before the all the insurance companies began to back out.

And I am guessing that Bummer told them not to worry about anything that the American taxpayer would pick up the tab.

Another good reason to just chuck the whole thing.

Yes because he wrote it and implemented it and supported it and told everyone they could keep their doctor and that it would be cheaper....

Hey, wait...

A couple of points:

1. this is why i’m taking my health into my own hands.

The second point is bigger. Fact is, the internet is making many expensive treatments and doctors visits un-necessary. The health CARE industry will be decimated. We don’t need as many people as we used to.

I can use the internet to diagnose most of the stuff I used to have to go to a GP to fix, and sometimes more reliably, like when the Dr. had no clue, and after the appointment I went home and hit the internet. Within five minutes I knew I had gout and within another five I knew I needed to take black cherry juice and apple cider vinegar. This was six years ago and that info was spot on.

And now, with cancer, I have multiple acquaintances that have been cured of stage 4 cancer using “natural” methods. Yep. They really work.

But I’m just scratching the surface. Sure, we still need major surgeries from time to time, but if you want to keep your health CARE costs down, don’t get fat, watch your diet and stay in shape. It’s amazing how healthy a person can stay - right up until they die.

And when something DOES break, it’s not that costly. I think the days of an obese and unhealthy country are waning. People are gonna either get healthy or die, and in most cases the choice is theirs.
