Two South Carolina men each face a harassment charge after pictures surfaced on social media showing them pouring beer down the throat of an alligator, authorities said.
Joseph Andrew Floyd Jr., 20, and Zachary Lloyd Brown, 21, both of Ridgeland, are accused of harassing wildlife, said the state’s Department of Natural Resources in a news release.
The incident took place on Wednesday in Jasper County, located in the coastal region in the southernmost part of the state.
The men admitted to investigators they picked up the juvenile alligator after they saw it crossing a road, forced beer down its throat and watched it swim away in a nearby pond, according to the release.

Had the alligator been a few years older the incident would have been written off as a college fraternity hazing event.

Thank God we have police and courts to save us from having gators forced to drink a beer. Stellar use of taxpayer money.

Back in the early 70s Schlitz was good beer. Especially Schlitz dark draft. Then it got bought out. Oh well. That’s life.
Had they not bragged about it on Social media, they’d not be in any trouble. Perhaps telling their close friends only would have been a better way to go. Social media as much as I love it, sure gets many in trouble.
I suspect the only reason they did it was in order to be able to brag about it on social media. Morons acting like morons.

Of course, they just had to go ahead and post documentary evidence of their misdeeds to social media. That’s how they got caught. But hey, they apparently trended for an hour or two.
But they had they nifty pic. They had to share with the world their mental midget antics. I bet that gator has a bigger brain than both of them.
