Federal water use restrictions have long meant that washers have more problems. Rugged top loading washers were almost eliminated for problematic front loaders as a result.

DING DING DING!!!!!

I won't buy anything with an EnergyStar label. Small motors, overtorqued that fail easily, negating the energy savings when I have to buy a new one.
