Back then we could leave school for lunch, and we went to Steak & Shake, for those that know the brand. The place was full at the counter, tables and booths. Imagine how I felt as we went through the first set of glass doors, and could hear all the lunchtime noise and clatter, and as we went through the second set, the whole place went silent.
