Well, we didn’t have hi-def and we didn’t have HBO. But we did have standards. I tend to watch tv comedies like Dick Van Dyke rather than hour long dramas or mysteries.

I really enjoyed the Dick Van Dyke show. I also liked the Andy Griffith show. Boy did Andy do a swan dive.

I liked Father Knows Best, Leave it to Beaver, Bonanza...

Lassie was a favorite growing up. My Friend Flicka was as well.

Of course the Lone Ranger, Roy Rogers, and Hop Along Cassidy were also mainstays.

What was good about all those shows, is that they presented clear morals. There was a very clear right from wrong, and right always prevailed.

It’s shocking what they present to children these days.

We are an imperfect people and we always will be, but at least in our culture we should present a “good face” on things for our kids.

Society has gone over the hill. Now our media makes no pretense of being any better.

Many of the popular science fiction movies deliver incredibly conflicting morals.
