Police: A woman who called 911 on herself said her friend would not "comply" with her.

Two Webster women are facing charges after one of the women called police to report she was too drunk to drive.

According to police, 25-year old Marissa Ann Sluss called 911 and and told police she was unsafe to drive her car because she was intoxicated, and that her friend, 20-year old Hannah Marie Webb, was also too drunk to drive.

Don’t charge her with drunk driving. She did the right thing. Cut her some slack. Public intoxication charge is good.

Were the keys in the ignition? If not, a DWI might be difficult to prove unless the Texas laws treat simple presence in the driver’s seat as driving. A drunk might be sleeping it off in the diver’s seat and be charged with DWI. Anyone with specialized knowledge of that part of the vehicle code for Texas?

Cops have no choice but to charge them both....

However, the prosecutor has leaway on the disposition of the case.....

I would imagine this will never make it to court for either one, unless either one was confrontational with the arresting officer....

"Not guilty, not guilty."

I don't know .. I think the one on the left needs a "re-trial"; that may not have been her best picture.

I concur with your verdict for the one on the right ...

>>>Were the keys in the ignition?<<<

Most modern Cars do not require a Key in the Ignition.

You just need the Key Fob on your person when you hit the Start Button.

I have a friend who’s kid was charged and convicted for DWI sleeping in the back seat of his car in a blizzard Because he was in the car and possessed the keys it qualified as DWI. Some of the laws regarding this are crazy....

So, to be in compliance with the law, he should have stayed out in the blizzard and froze to death?

“Police found the two women parked in the middle of the street...”

I guess maybe we don’t have all the details, but ‘parked in the middle of the street’ doesn’t sound too good for them.
