When uploaded to Netflix, an episode of the educational children’s show “Bill Nye the Science Guy” cut out a segment saying that chromosomes determine one’s gender.
The original broadcast of the episode, entitled 'Probability', saw a young woman explain (at 9:07 below):
“I’m a girl. Could have just as easily been a boy, though, ‘cause the probability of becoming a girl is always 1 in 2,” a young woman says in the show. “See, inside each of our cells are these things called chromosomes, and they control whether we become a boy or a girl.”

Bill Nye’s 1996 show isn’t enlightened enough, I guess.
We have to kowtow to the “Trans-gender” activists now. It offends their sensibilities to think that sex is determined by your chromosomes. It offends their sensibilities to think there are only two sexes, male and female. So because we can’t bear to offend the “trans” people, we have to censor an old program, which has factual information, but was made in the “prehistoric” era of 1996, before we became so enlightened about sex and gender issues.
So it’s not about truth anymore?

Now remember, Bill, Harvard folks been saying gender identify can change on a daily or even hourly basis. The underlying (epi)genetics for this may be a little difficult to track. So much for the old “mind body problem.” Now, instead, your body is whatever your mind says it is. They never saw that one coming.
Can I say I am 15 now, and need to re-do my high school days, and learn from my mistakes?

Grammar determines your gender.

Liberals sometimes tell us, you are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. Yet in this case, the facts are at odds with a liberal political agenda statement.
I swear sometimes l think l am in a Twilight Zone episode. We had a President that was trying to bully schools to force 13 year old girls to share locker rooms and showers with dudes pretending to be female. So now this, the number 1 media streamer censoring science they don’t like. It’s insane.

This is what happens when you don't own the content you want to watch (on tape or disc). It is subject to the whims of whoever owns/licenses/presents/restricts the current version of said content.
It's especially troubling as China could be poised to buy out one of our media monopolies and junk 100 years of our cultural history. A new Chinese cultural revolution. Certainly could prove as destructive as the 50 year Red Revolution among the Left in America.
That is correct. That's why I use the term "gender" to refer to whether someone is male or female. The word "sex" refers strongly to a physical activity, and I would rather not refer to that in polite company.
The use of the word "gender" to refer to grammatical classes originates in ancient humans' desire to classify inanimate objects into categories. One of these categories is biological gender. When speakers of languages that use gender refer to, for example, a table as feminine, they literally are saying that the table is female.
Furthermore, it makes no sense to insist that "gender" refers to a grammatical construct and nothing else. The English language does not use the gender construct--so why would a majority of English speakers who know no other language even know the word "gender" if an element of foreign grammar was *all* the word referred to?
Men die younger, which is how you get 51%. But at birth it’s 50/50.
