Yeah Tim Tebow failed to get this guy help. I remember the stories of Tim trying to preach to him about his mind getting right but was unsuccessful in getting through to him. I just hope Tim doesn’t try being a psychologist again. It is dangerous and irresponsible. Well the results speak for themselves.

Aaron’s family wants to donate his brain to science. Maybe they thought he was not just bad tempered, but possibly brain damaged. No amount of preaching or witnessing will change someone who is brain damaged in the long term.

Besides, when you’re in the NFL, and got access to millions of dollars, there is no doubt, it changes what people consider doing or saying. I can’t even imagine that much wealth available at my fingertips, whether I’m a nice guy or not. The fact that these are young men, makes it even harder to keep grounded or civil in the way you treat people.

You are blaming this on Tim Tebow?

Tim did what he thought was right, and more than that we don’t have a clue what Tim could have done.

Professional help can be forced on no one, but by court order.

The family was doubtless pushing brain jarring injury on Aaron, as well. They had his brain surgically removed for study, stored, for self-serving suing purposes.

Are you serious?

You think Tebow played a role in Hernandez's suicide?

Boy, talk about "jumping to conclusions"!

I doubt Tebow was trying to be a psychologist, more likely trying to appeal to him as a friend through his religion. When people don’t step up and do anything to help people they know are on a downward spiral, they’re chastised. You’re chastising Tebow for doing just that. At least Tebow can say that he tried to help his friend, and has nothing to feel guilty about.

I hate to see who you blame for the suicide of Judas.

Maybe you should blame Urban Meyer. It’s TOTALLY his fault. He created an animal.

I don’t think that’s the worst post I’ve ever seen on FR, but I’d say it’s easily in the top two.

Weird blame thing you got going there. Mr. Hernandez is responsible for the murder he committed, the jail he wound up in, the state of his own mental health. Those around him were not responsible for his actions, his wrong decisions.
I think it’s likely that people like Tebow did all they could to help him. I suspect there was no “him” left to help - he was so given over to the life he chose to live that he would not let anyone influence his decisions for the better. I don’t think this means others should not try or that only people with credentials can help him, especially if he wouldn’t seek professional help. I think the “good Samaritan rules” apply here.
