Thousands of Turkish trolls tank the new Christian Bale film 'The Promise' on IMDB [tr]

The new Christian Bale film 'The Promise' won't be out in theaters until Friday, but it's IMDB rating has already been tanked by tens of thousands of one-star reviews. In the film, set at the end of the Ottoman Empire, Bale plays an Associated Press reporter covering the Armenian genocide. While the atrocities are largely considered to be the first genocide of the 20th century, Turkey still refuses to use the term in reference to the mass killing. After hearing the topic of the film, trolls organized on a Turkish message board similar to 4Chan or Reddit to protest the movie by giving it one-star reviews on IMDB.

According to what I read this movie was bank rolled by Kirk Kerkorian; of Armenian descent.

It’s time for NATO to kick Turkey to the curb.

Well, I’ll have to go see it.

It was hard to get our minds around what happened until recent years, now that “jihad” has reemerged. Now we understand what happened.

They killed a couple million Armenians, and then went on to kill several hundred thousand Assyrian Christians, and several hundred thousand Greek Christians. It wasn’t just an Armenian genocide, it was jihad against Christians. Remind you of ISIS?

It doesn’t hurt to remember that Turkey is ISIS’s sponsor and backer. Not their only sponsor, but while others have been shamed by the bad PR as ISIS slaughters Christians and other non-muslims, the Turks really aren’t bothered by all that.

You are right on, marron.

Dear Turks. Very likely, you have made this movie into an international blockbuster.

Well that did it...Now I’ll have to go and see it.

Armenian Genocide is one of the most covered up event in history. This movie should be supported.

In college, I wrote an extensive term paper on this for my Historiography class.

A lot of research (pre-internet), countless hours scouring libraries and reading book after book, report after report; primary and secondary.

Got an A.

I’ve been moved by the Armenians’ (and Greeks’) plight ever since.

About time this was brought to the public’s attention.

The Turks whining about this can bite me.

They already left. Only 0.2% of Turkey’s population is non-Muslims.

Of course this wasn’t genocide, these were Christians infidels...

Born of pigs and apes...

Move along, nothing to see here...

Islam, the cancer of the planet...

I’d go see it, but the wife could not handle the subject matter...

The Armenian holocaust is basically a story of Muslims committing genocide against Christians.

People just don’t know history. From the Crusades on down and before, there is a very clear pattern of behavior among Muslims in aggregate.

Sadly, Sweden and Europe are currently being peacefully conquered, but that will immediately change following two points. 1) The Muslim population meets critical mass, and 2) any subsequent indigenous push back.

Once those two conditions are met things will turn very bloody in Europe and elsewhere.

I hold no brief for Turkey whatsoever, but how many FReepers realize that Armenian nationalism and the Armenian genocide have been hard left/Communist causes for decades? Even in America the organized Armenian community traditionally has a very hard left orientation and supports leftist Democrats. Meanwhile, the same leftist Democrats who "hate christianity" when it comes to "rednecks" have long celebrated "the first chrstian nation."

As an urban immigrant ethnic community, Armenian-Americans are moreover shielded from the destructive nihilism of the domestic Left, just as Blacks and Hispanics are.

By protesting the film’s accuracy, the muzzie Turks think they can erase historical data.

“Very likely, you have made this movie into an international blockbuster”

After pounding on Mel Gibson and “The Passion” by the MSM (Dan Rather especially) how many millions more went to see it/rent it/purchase it? At one point it was on the nightly news... nightly.
