The track is almost all below sea level! How do they keep the seawater out?

Nothing against IC engines converting fuel to motion and noise, but those last two URLs were a spammy bunch.

But yeah, F1, Superbike, Nascar, Moto GP and anyone else with the hammer down is good with me.

I have it on good authority that sea level is rising rapidly due to you-know-what. The track was 100 meters ABOVE sea level a couple years ago.

Lap Record: Pedro de la Rosa. Now there is an answer to a trivia question I would have never have guessed.

The Haas team got a top 10 qualifying spot with Grosjean at 9th. So Haas has gotten top 10 finishes and Qualifying. The next step is a podium finish.

The other Haas car with Kevin Magnussen driving got caught by a yellow flag when he was going for his hot lap in the Q1 session and he is starting from near the back. It will be interesting to see how fast he can move up through the field.

Waiting for the race to start right now.

Do you think that Hamilton deserved the 5 second penalty for going too slowly on pit lane?

It was a safety car box, Botas was in the pit, and Hamilton was coming in with one of the Red Bulls ( Ricciardo I think) and a couple of other cars behind, and Mercedes was stacking their two drivers with a stupidly long pit stop by Botas.

It appears that Hamilton was slowing down on pit lane to allow Botas to clear the pit without having to stop behind Botas. But it also delayed Red Bull from getting their car in and out faster as well, and Red Bull was in the hunt for a podium position at the time.

Hamilton had a stellar drive at the end, and without the 5 second penalty he may have had a few hard laps at Vettel.

If you can find it, it’s worth a watch.
