They still using P-3s in California? There are four or five squadrons of them at Whidby Island and a Canadian squadron of Auroras at Comox.

If their Whiskey is still operational, it has the range for a one way trip. The old Romeos might, as well. The chances of either one getting out of the Sea of Japan undetected is about zero.

2 small Japanese subs have been found near Pearl Harbor that were associated with the attacks. One may have launched torpedoes during the attack, the other was sunk before it got to the harbor.
