Rick Martin gets 50th goal and hat trick in 5-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues, Jacques Richard scores 27th regular season goal as Atlanta defeats Pittsburgh (with maskless Andy Brown playing his last NHL game) 6-3 at the Omni.
The game the Sabers beat the Soviets 12-6 was a thing of beauty.
Note that the April 7, 1974 game between Pittsburgh and Atlanta was broadcasted on NBC as it’s weekly Sunday afternoon game. Therefore, the NHL’s last maskless goalie game got that further “exposure”, so to speak.
Yeah, that was it. That game was so much better than the style played by the Flyers at the time.
Love it! My cousin Michael Bitzer was named First team All American at goalie for Bemidji State just yesterday. Great kid. Great future in the game.

Hey airborne - quick?? - is anyone on the FR Hockey ping list doing a regular NHL Playoff pick ‘em / bracket contest - like for bragging rights only (since I’m a horrible picker and a worse gambler)?

OK hockey fans! we have two options and I'd like to get a "vote" as to which way to go.
I can "Create A League" where everyone would have to register and sign in at the NHL website.
Or I can put something together on my own and see how that works.
I will be home from volunteering at the VA at 3 PM.
I will see who responded and create a new thread with the format at that time.
Please throw something together.
