Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is leaving football and going into broadcasting with CBS, league sources told ESPN.
Romo has reached a verbal agreement with CBS to be its No. 1 color commentator -- replacing former NFL quarterback Phil Simms -- alongside play-by-play veteran Jim Nantz, sources confirmed to ESPN. He also had drawn interest from Fox and NBC. The Sports Business Journal first reported Romo's agreement with CBS.

Or Collingsworth !
He’ll fall out of his chair and break a bone the first week..................
The NFL has a dearth of acceptable quarterbacks, and now one of the most talented has retired.
lol
I am a Romo fan and was hoping he’d take another run at it. Thing is, after a spectacular 2014, he basically did not play in 2015 or 16 due to significant injuries. The guy played hard and took a lot of hits. I think he made the call that it wasn’t worth the potential for more serious injuries. He easily could have had a starting job at at least 2-3 team and probably more.
The guy was undrafted and ended up with top 5 stats in the league. He made a lot of money and got the be the QB of the Dallas Cowboys for a decade. Not too shabby.
But fear not...having already gotten five rings *the* most talented QB still has another three or four rings left in him!
No,not too shabby. And with his NFL pension, his savings (hopefully he hasn't spent *everything* he earned) and the fact that he'll make far more than minimum wage in the future he can be sure of a comfortable and secure one.
This would be Tonys best move but I wonder how Phil feels about it?
