The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has confirmed the sighting of former teacher, Tad Cummins, and 15-year-old Elizabeth Thomas, in Oklahoma City on March 15.
Both Cummins and Elizabeth were seen at a Walmart on East I-240 Service Road in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Cummins reportedly bought food with cash, but nothing else of significance. TBI’s Josh Devine tweeted that they received the photos from a tip that came through yesterday, which explained the delay in getting the information to the public.
It appears as if Elizabeth’s hair is now red. Cummins darkened his hair and beard. Investigators are currently trying to determine what type of vehicle they left in.

I’m so conflicted on this. On the one hand, I wouldn’t want my 15 yr old running off with a married man who is probably older than her own parents. On the other hand, what if her home life is more dysfunctional than this relationship...what if her mother is found guilty of the 4 counts of felony child abuse that she’s been charged with? I look back 2 - 3 generations ago at our great-grandparents. My gr-grandfather married a 12 year old when he was 41 (her step-father signed giving her legal permission). My husband’s gr-uncle was 61 when he married a 17 yr old girl. I just don’t know where the truth lies in this girl’s situation. Since the man’s wife has filed for divorce, he & this girl will probably be legally married in some state within 8 months. What happens then?

The girl is below the TN. age of consent. Crimes have been committed. They don’t just go away, when wifey files for divorce. This guy is toast.
They were reporting this morning, that the couple may have been in Kearney, Nebraska.
Found a chart showing the ‘age of consent’ for all 50 States and many of them are 16. Wonder what her birthdate is.
My opinion is that he planned this abduction back in January and probably had other resources & another car available. Also more money than the $4,500.
Wonder how soon a judge will grant the wife her divorce. If it’s just a few months, he can marry Elizabeth who will likely be pregnant in a few weeks.
This is a modern day drama indeed. Hope he doesn’t panic and commit a murder/suicide. He seems to have too much ego for that.
In all states, to get married before 18, you need parental consent, which won't be happening here.

Nancy Grace talked about that. Is several ways around that law. One is if the girl is pregnant. Another is by getting a judge to bypass the law which won’t happen here.
If they can get past the abortion laws trust me they can get past marriage ones.
My gr gr grandfather married a 16 yr old girl as his second wife. He was 59 with 5 young children when he married her.
You bring up valid questions. Some of the worst marriages I’ve known of were ones where you thought it was a perfect match. You just never know.

You make some good points, but a situation like this STILL isn’t considered, ‘normal’ behavior for an adult male, married or not.
And that’s saying a LOT since ‘normal’ has been turned upside down thanks to the Socialist Democrat Party of America!
