The problem is the parents who are raising spoiled, self-centered, self-indulgent, uncivilized brats.
i would eat there, for sure!!
Last Sunday I was going up to Communion and passed a family where the kid, he was probably 7, was playing a video game on his tablet. The sound was off but come on.
Could have addressed problem by throwing out the offending parents/child.
Eat at the bar to avoid the unruly brats...
Childen under 10 do NOT believe in an upscale restaurant. Period.
100% the call of the owner. The market will decide. I have 3 young children and would never take them to a fancy restaurant. What’s the point? Everyone suffers. The kids would rather be a Papa Gino’s/Five Guys anyway. If the wife and I want a nice meal we suck it up and get a babysitter. It really isn’t that difficult.
Make a no screaming kid airline and I’m on board.
what happens? Kids don’t eat there. Next story please.
This is on parents starting with Boomers and continuing through succeeding generations who never taught their children manners. These same parents act oblivious when their little brats are interfering with others’ enjoyment of a meal or a movie or even shopping.
I don’t vacation much in the USA b/c there are no “adults only” places you can go. I am forced to go to other countries if I want to actually relax without loud unruly and undisciplined brats underfoot.
An expensive restaurant that doesn’t allow kids? They should ALL be that way. Most kids are too young to appreciate fine dining anyway so why should others pay for the bad parenting?
as usual, bad parents make good parents pay for their mistakes
...perhaps the restaurant could have a one night a week “family” night, this way people calling for reservations could be made aware that children will be present during dining...
I don’t get bothered by children at regular restaurants but, when I go upscale those little brats bug the heck out of me.
I want to enjoy my dinning experience not tolerate it.
I’m happy for a restaurant owner to do whatever he prefers.
And here come the child haters.
Our three kids always went with us to all kinds of restaurants. They never got out of line ever.
Children’s OWN previlige.
And any restaurant that thinks it’sself as “upscale “ is ridiculous and self-important. What’s going on there that is so upscale? Let the kids in and add some life to the place. There’s no such thing as upscale in my book. It’s all preposterous .
One restaurant had a sign I liked: Keep Your Children Quiet and In Their Seats.
