The US ambassador to the United Nations on Thursday said China can and must do more to force North Korea to halt its nuclear and missile programs.
Ambassador Nikki Haley said President Donald Trump would raise the issue next week at his first summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
And, amid reports that Pyongyang is preparing another banned nuclear test, Haley said Washington would not settle for holding another UN debate.
"I have no patience for it, and it is not helping anyone. And it's not about me. This administration has no patience for it," she said.

This is in my opinion, huge.
This leader of China, seems to have been appointed to a very secure position, he seems quite powerful.
Trump is a bit of a rebel, but there is a HUGE amount of support for him, among the people in America.
China has several aspects, which in my opinion they have been (terribly) taking advantage of.
Korea is certainly one of them.
But trade in general, is a MESS between the two countries. America needs to take a strong stand on Trade as well, in my humble opinion.
This will be an interesting meeting.
Go Trump.
謝謝

Those islands china built are gonna be on the table too, i would assume
In the case of a N Korea nuclear strike, the USA should make clear that for every nuke we hit the NORKS with that China will be hit with the same number in the center of their largest cities.
Well I think Trump is different.
But we will see.
So far Trump has been different and he started missile defense back up.
Communists are livid.

China Warns of Arms Race After U.S. Deploys Missile Defense in South Korea
HONG KONG The United States said on Tuesday that it had begun deploying an advanced and contentious missile defense system in South Korea, prompting China to warn of a new atomic arms race in a region increasingly on edge over North Koreas drive to build a nuclear arsenal.
The American announcement came a day after the simultaneous launch of four missiles by North Korea into waters off the Japanese coast, which Pyongyang said was a drill for striking American bases in Japan. The feat, footage of which was broadcast on state television, raised concern about the Norths ability to overwhelm the new defense system being deployed.

China is a thug regime and Xi is the biggest thug of them all, which is why he gained power.
From Wash Post
The scope and pace of Chinese retaliation against South Korea related to the THAAD deployment has been accelerating in recent months and spans the governmental, economic, commercial, aviation and tourism sectors.
The most visible example of Chinese retaliation has been against the Lotte Group, one of South Koreas largest foreign retail operators. Lotte agreed to a land swap with the South Korean government to facilitate THAAD deployment. Subsequently, there have been protests in China against Lotte, operations at 39 retail stores in China have been suspended, and the Chinese government has begun a comprehensive tax probe into Lottes China operations.
Chinas Global Times wrote this month that unless Lotte changes its mind, the determination of Chinese society to make it pay the price for its decision to support to host the THAAD would be firm too.
Lotte is big, in Vietnam as well.
Should be an interesting meeting.
Next weekend, I believe.
North Korea is an albatross around China’s neck. They know it. Trump knows it. Unification is a win for China, a win for Trump/USA, and a win for Korea. It is going to happen.
Well, weapons are made to be used.
Sure, the atomic bomb is so horrific that it hasn’t been used in war since 1945.
Now we have unstable (to say the least) countries with them.
I will be pleasantly surprised if none are used in the next 20 years.

Considering the liberal Candidate for South Korea wants unification, I wouldn’t be surprised. If that looks like a possibility, the Syrian refugee crisis will look like child’s play compared to what will happen if reunification occurs. It will be disastrous and full of bloodshed and slaughter of many in the South. I just don’t see that being allowed to happen. But if it does... watch the tables get turned and the Democrats will be the ones not wanting refugees. Why would they want all those South Korean Christians? At any rate, I hope our foreign policy is thought through all the way to all the possible outcomes.
... and there is our ‘lever’. The Chinese most certainly don’t want to see a nuclear-armed Japan or South Korea. The Chinese leader needs to see that this is the obvious outcome of North Korea’s belligerency. If they are not made to see it, then China will play “Lets Make a Deal” and begin liking promises of cooperation on Korea to bi-lateral trade (no changes) or navigation (South China Sea) — all to their benefit.
China had no influence over Viet Nam as we charged in the 60’sresentment leading to armed conflict. I thinks the Norks feel the same.
Alas, you may be correct.I heard one “crazy” idea that makes too much sense. If a comet or asteroid ever enters our atmosphere unannounced and blows apart like the Tunguska event (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunguska_event), on one of the nuke ready nations, it could bring about mistaken retaliation. Mankind was finished off by his own stupidity?
