Multiple video clips showing incidents that purportedly demonstrate the need for carrying your semi-auto with a round in the chamber.

The only proper way for person to carry for personal protection is with a round in the chamber. Military excepted, since the handgun is usually not the primary means of defense. If it becomes the primary means, then, chamber loaded.
The instructor is correct in pointing out the downside (and potentially fatal) consequences of failing to include a round in the chamber.
I love the safety features on my revolver!
Oh! Thats right! There arent any !!
That looks a lot like my CCW piece. Not all of us can rack or dismantle for cleaning an 9MM, but can care for a revolver. Hand Arthritis forced me to trade in my Bersa .380 for a 38 Tarsus Ultra Lite revolver. Having small hands meant the butt had to be small too.
I’ve always got a round chambered. One less thing to remember.
Why should anyone in the military, NOT carry hot? Are they stupid, or incompetent?
It took me a while to carry with one in the chamber till I had a discussion with a guy I work with who was in the Coast Guard. He explained to me why that’s not a good thing and that it’s perfectly safe. Now I always carry chambered.
My favorite is the Ruger PS101.
But in most of the videos 5 rounds would have been far too few.
A few years ago the usual robbery was by one or two people.
Now days it usually is two or more, maybe even six or more.
The house burglar that sneaks into the house at night by prying a window has been replaced by the 3 to 6 thugs that smash the front door.
I really don’t like to fool with remembering safeties, de-cockers, etc. I just want to point and click, assuming one in the chamber.

yep and I carry a GLOCK so I do not have to think I if have the manual safety on or off.
Dude/Dudette, I’m not watching a long Dutch movie. Is there a specific part of that film that is pertinent?
From my experience when bad stuff happens it happens so quickly you barely have time to think.
I carry my Glock with one in the chamber. If I have to draw it means the situation is life or death. When I pull the trigger I know my Glock will go bang until the magazine is empty.
I’ll have to admit, the video changed my mind. Seeing actual situations was the proof.
Does your gun have a safety? I make sure mine is on all the time. It takes a while getting used to it. But, look around, people are carrying chambered all the time and nothing bad happens. The odds of an accidental discharge are astronomical if you have a modern firearm. Just always remember trigger finger placement when drawing. Practice on an empty firearm. That helped me a lot.
I agree and revolvers leave no empty casings lying around with fingerprints.
